Need help: Stock Tour 18's width?
first, let me start by saying "Sorry!" i searched but i could not find the
specific answer i am looking for.
I have a set of stock 18inch Touring wheels from an 03 Z. I found that the
wheel sizes are 18x8 I think. Based on that, (please correct me if i am
wrong) I should be able to put a 245/40/18 or 255/45/18 on BOTH and be
able to rotate them front to rear correct? The biggest thing i need to do is
extend tread life. (I know a lighter foot would help, BUT.) I want to have the
ability to rotate the front to rear, not side to side. I've also read that having
the same width front and rear will give you a better track grip. Is this
correct? I am not too concerned with traction from a dig, but more cornering
ability. I have decided to go with BFG g-Force KDWII. any comments on this
setup, or reguarding my requirements for tire rotation and cornering ability
are welcomed and appreciated.
Is the middle number correct for those wheels? Should it be a 255/45/18 or
255/40/18? I know the middle number is aspect, but I'm still confused on its
relation to the tire and wheel. I am trying to go for the "low profile" look.
