Default Pic Request: Lighweight 18" wheels?

Post pics of your lightweight 18" wheels. I am turning my car into a track vehicle and sticking with 18" wheels. I need them to be light and strong. And also look good . Anybody know the wieght difference between the old style OEM Ray's wheels and the Nismo LMGT4s? Thanks in advance.

Cant comment on the weight between the OEM version and the LMGT4's. However, have you considered getting the 5Zigens? The 5Zigen FN-01R-C 1 Piece Casting Wheel, are pretty light. Large enough to accomadate most BBK and wide enough at 9.5. They are also relatively inexpensive. Even Gram Lights would be a good choice. There are several choices...either the 57F/57C or 57S/57S-Pro...a lot cheaper than the Nismo versions. Gram Lights 57S - 18X9.5 +22 (face 2) all around for like $390 or even cheaper from some other places I am sure.

If its for the track only.....whatever rims you choose will get beat up in time. Why spend all the money on really good rims??

Just a thought. Goodluck though.

I will look into those wheels. Thanks.

I don't mind spending the money for quality rims as I only do HPDE stuff for now. I just want something that can hit a rumble strip or two without cracking.

I suggest that you visit autocross and track forum, and check member wheels. There are also wheels available for racing which are not street recommended.

Aside from the obvious cosemetic differences, LMGT4s are wider than the OEM track rims and can consequently fit larger tires. Also I believe the LMGT4 has a slightly more aggressive offset. Otherwise the two are similar in weight, quality, etc. LMGT4s are also available in 19" fitments.
Good luck,

SSR Comp-H
18x9 fronts are about 18 lbs
18x10.5 rears are around 19.5 lbs
The width of the wheel really affects weight. Maybe go for a 18x9 on all fours for a track setup:

first define your budget, and from there the decisions tend to make themselves

Enkei RPF1. Cast, cheap, strong, track-proven, comes in a variety of sizes, and are lighter than other similar wheels like the 5Zigen FN01R-C, etc...
