Default Best daily driving tires (no tracking)

So I'm in the market for some 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 tires for my 19x9.5/19x10.5 Volks. I want a tire that is not going to wear out fast, but handles great. The car will not be tracked, so I'm not looking for the grippiest tire out there, but I do like to have fun on highway entrance ramps, so the tire needs to be able to hold its own. What do you guys suggest?

if you are looking for daily driving tires, where stickyness is not too much of a concern, try Hankook Ventus K104s. i've been using this for almost 20k, and no sign of wear yet. im not sure if they make the size you are looking for, but check it out. great looking tires with untoucheable durability.

S-03s will last you while.
PS-2s if you want more traction.

PS2 if money is no concern. Sumitomo HTRZII if on a budget

S03's are WAY too stiff IMHO (I hate mine )

I'm going to go with he PS-2. It beats the S-03 in every aspect and lasts much longer.

with what you described as your intent, it is hands-down, Avon Tech 550. It will make a night and day difference in your ride enjoyment.

If you're in Illinois with midwest rains I would suggest the BFG KDW. Impressive dry traction, better-than-most wet traction and priced competitively.

I use these in the sizes you're looking for as my street setup (i use r-compounds on my track setup with another set of wheels so i was looking for the features I mention above for daily driving and associated performance/comfort).

You ought to get: 255/35/19 & 285/35/19.

Tires I would consider are: Goodyear F1 GD-D3, BFG KDW2, Dunlop SP9000, and Toyo T1R

Also consider the Pirelli PZero Nero, though I'm not sure if they're made in those sizes.

It's the original meaning of drifter and not the punk-boy pseudonym. He just kind of goes from town to town.

Tires like the PS2 and S-03 are good, but overpriced. You can get equal/better tires for less $$$

The PS2 compared to a tire like the Avon Tech M500 is better in ever aspect. I compared them at tirerack.com, which gives a 1-10 rating for each tire in Dry Traction, Wet Traction, Hydro-Resistance, Cornering Stability, and Ride Comfort.

The PS2 scored higher in every department, and scored an overall 8.8 (2nd out of 24 comparable tires).
