Default Unpopular wheels for the 350Z?

It should come as no surprise that 350Z owners prefer wheels such as Volks, but I found one that I have yet to see on a 350Z, nor has anyone ever mentioned.

This is the WedsSport TC005. About 16.5 pounds each, and $1,800/4 wheels. Certainly the weight is a winner, and the price is far from outrageous. What is it about this wheel that 350Z drivers do not like?

IMHO, everyone and their mother who owns a G or a Z gets the Volks...and it's really starting to make me nautious.

I guess people are just un-original, one guy gets something and then copy, copy, copy.

It's a little more than that.

They're built well, strong, made with precise fitments and offsets for the G/Z's minus the custom-build waiting time. They can be replaced without wondering if the company will go under, not to mention the resale value is decent.

Theres a reason why RAYS are the most knocked off wheel brand.
If we wanted to be original, we wouldn't be driving Z's or G's.

We just need to accept what looks good for us, and that most of us have similar tastes.

And to David...if they look good to you, rock em!
That's all that matters. Fifty people can show up next month with those wheels on, but the important thing is they looked good to you. It's ridiculous to go to extremes just to be different.

I love those .. they go a little concave in the rear, given the right offset and can look killer on a lighter color Z.

I considered them but got the LMGT4s in a good deal and couldn't pass them up. Weds makes some kick*ss wheels.

Approved!

I got volks because I liked them. Not because my350z.com told me to.

Volks are killer...and expensive.

Those Wedsports look fine. I haven't really seen aything like those on many Z's yet. However, with that said, I think you need Brembo's or StopTech's underneath that type of rim. There would be too much "empty" otherwise. My 2 cents.

I do like them tho...and that weight is outstanding.

There are some cars in the JGTC that use them so they get my respect...not sure how they'd look on a Z though. I know Tirerack just started carrying them last month, so that may be why you haven't seen them before/yet.

Where'd you find that weight and what size is that weight for? I'm never heard of an 18" wheel weighing less than 17.xlbs unless it was magnesium.

Unpopular wheels? For me it would be any wheel that is blingy or chrome or heavy. Lots of nice wheels out there. Take a look at CCW http://www.ccwheel.com/files/home.php Most of their 19" are in the $600 range.

I'll answer my own question. Tirerack has them at 19 lbs for 18". Still respectable. Here they are on a JGTC Supra (lower pic) although I wouldn't expect them to look quite that concave on your street car since these are probably 13" wide!

I'm warming up to those wheels too....they'd make a great track wheel.

With the right offsets they'd make a nice looking set on a Z.
