Wondering why they didn't test the Bridgestone S-03 pole position. It has been the benchmark for a number of years

I wish they had tested the BFG KDW-2 rather than the KD's. If their whole test was around the best all-around performance tire, the KDW-2 would have def been at least top 5 if not top 3.
Trending Topics
"Toyo says its new T1R has "high-modulus bead apex rubber." You probably don't know what that means, and neither do we. This wasn't much more clear: "Spiral-wound, jointless edge and capplies." If this test were based on no comprendo engineer-speak, Toyo would win."

Car & Driver gets paid under the table by alot of different manufacturers. Just like that one test comparing the Supra Turbo, VR-4, E36 M3, and 300ZXTT...and the BMW came in first???...for what?...being the most expensive, slowest of all four, or no leather or power seats? I bet BMW "sponsored" the test! F***K Car & Driver...nothing but a bunch of viagra addicted old farts.
I just installed the ContiSportContact2's in my car. I previously had Toyo T1S, and before that, the OEM RE040. The Toyo's were mushier than the RE040, but now that I have the Continental tires on, I'd say the ContiSportContacts are even more mushy than the Toyos. When I received my tires, the first thing I noticed is that the sidewalls are very soft.
After reading the review, I'd have to agree with the authors that these tires don't feel like performance tires at all. On another note, the ride quality (comfort) has improved drastically. Another benefit to the Continentals it that they are not directional, so you can flip them side to side to alleviate feathering if you have it.
I got 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 on sale at Tirerack for less than $800 shipped. That was a few months ago...it was really hard to beat that price.
In terms of performance, I really don't know yet. I don't have a track day scheduled for at least a month out.

Its pretty simple guys they didn't test the KDW-2's because they were testing "Max Performance Summer" tires not "Ultra High Performance" tires. The KD is BFG's top of the line product and that is what it appears that they picked for all the manufacturers.

Also not true is that they picked the highest tire of each manufacturer. The Bridgestone RE050 is not bridgestone's highest nor is the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3.
