Widening Track Wheels
I REALLY want to get my stock RAYS widened like this guy did:
https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-tires/153412-i-just-put-some-295-tires-on-my-track-wheels.html
BUT, I also want to do my front by adding 1.5", so that they are 9.5" In the rear he added 2" and a 15mm spacer. I was wondering if anyone coud figure out the measurements for a Track rim widened to 9.5" and what spacer would be needed.I was thinkin 15mm all around, but i'm not sure of how to do the measurements and dont want to F up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Ryan

Not much reply on my thread. It is safe to do as long as a reputable company does it like Weldcraft. My questions were in regards to spacers on the Z. They worked well on this particular Supra, but the Z ain't no Supra

If you guys are at all interested in widening your stockers, the best way to determine what will work is to take all the measurements. Form the backside of the wheel you have to measure from the furthest point of the side wall to the shock since that'll be the nearest obstruction. Then, determine how far out you can move the wheel/tire with or without doing fender mods. At this point you can determine the additional width to add to the rim.
For example: I'm lowered 1.2" in the rear with Tanabe GF's and my camber is set at the OEM max of 2.1 degrees on stock 17's. The clearance between the side wall of the tire and the shock body is ROUGHLY 1.5". I can move the whole wheel/tire further out approximately 1.25". So in essence the wheel can safely be widened 2.5". The trick, though, is to find a tire combo that'll maintain the same sidewall measurements on a 10.5" rim as it were when you were running the stock width of 8". You can get fairly close to the shock body without any problems while the car is on the ground, but when you jack the car up and the wheel/tire assy. is hanging in mid air it will hit the shock.

so can you still run 245/275, that would be comparable to stock size. There was another guy whom was running 295 tires on his widened track wheels, but i'm not sure of the size. Any shops that you would recommend? Also anyone know in the PA area.
