Default VDC ? (newbie)

Do you guys/gals feel a noticable difference with VDC and or TC turned off?

Also, is it not advisable to turn it no/off on the fly?

I swear sometimes i turn it off and i feel more of a kick but other times i don't feel any difference at all.

please chime in.

Yup, there is a difference. I feel the same way. It seems as though it just revs alot faster.

During normal everyday driving, you probably own't notice much of a difference. If you're pushing the car hard, then you'll definitely notice it. There should be no harm in turning it on/off while driving.

i really only turn off my VDC at the track. It helps a bunch in the rain so I don't spin out

Oh, there's no debating that! Unless what is streaming across the track surface, turn VDC off! I've used it in those conditions, where rain was coming down hard, creating a river on the course, washing the moss off the surface... it actually helped... but that's how extreme conditions have to be, before the VDC becomes a track friendly device.

The Z's system is too aggressive to make it an effective driving aid... much the opposite of other makers systems. If you forget to click it off when you start a run, you will notice it immediately, and probably waste that run... especially when A/X'ing or drag testing.

I can testify to that! At my first AutoX event, I though I better leave it on till I got the hang of AutoXing. During my first run, it kicked in about two or three times essentially stalling the car for a second each time. I've never left it on again - in fact I post a note across the gauge cluster to remind myself to turn it OFF. Once you learn to control the throttle a little better and smoother, you'll realize that you don't need TCS/VDC for that type of aggressive driving.
