Default Offset question: 17x9, 275/40/R17

Specifically, these 17x9 MB Motorsports Weapon wheels. Offset options are +27 and +17.

The tires are 275/40/R17 falken azenis RT615 for autocross. Will either of these offsets work off the shelf, or would either of them work with a spacer?

I have a picture somewhere of my car with the 17x8 +17 all around on the car with 255/40/17. Looked pretty good IMO. I am thinking on going with a 275 rear, but am unsure how it will look.

I'd love to see the picture, but I'm not really concerned with looks.. just don't want any rub. These will be my race wheels/tires.

Oh, my car is also on tanabe GF210 springs, which dropped it 1" in the front and 1.2" in the back

Here you go: when the car was on stock ride height.

Are they Mb weapons? How do you like them as auto-x / track wheels?

I am looking into getting some of these wheels for my track wheels. If im going to run 17x9 +27 with 275 Hoosiers, do you think I will rub at all in the front? I have hotchkis springs also.

I did a test fit a while back and my 17x9 +35 fn01rc's with 275/40/17 Hoosiers rubbed slightly on the suspension in the front. I would think your extra 8mm of clearance should be plenty.

I did the same test fit, fitted the 17x9 +35 and 17x10 +35 with a 1/4" spacer on the front of my car to see if it cleared the brembo calipers. clearance behind the 17x9 was really tight stretching 225/40 tires...and the 17x10 stretching 245/40 tires having just enough clearance behind the rim, pretty much identical the clearance of the 17x9.

+27 will tuck the rims nicely, +17 will give your car a better stance.

Just to clear things up, the wheels fit just fine, no rubbing issues. The wheels and tires sit just slightly farther out than the stock 17"s, the perfect amount, i think. The 275/40/R17 RT-615s I got are outstanding... great turn-in, endless grip. I love them, can't wait to race on them.

The picture makes it look a lot worse than it really is.

So you went with the +27's I'm guessing?

I am so sick of the stretched look and I happen to like a little sidewall, this is quite refreshing, I think it looks great.

Just to clarify, these are the 17x9 +27 with 275/40/R17 falken azenis RT615?

Wow that looks badass. Does the tire/rim face sit flush with the body? Also, sorry I'm ADD what size wheels are those (17x9 all around with 275s all around?). And can you take a shot like a bit closer so I can see how flush it fits with the body? Thanks.

could you also take a shot of the clearance behind the wheel and tire?
Something like this shot taken from Sport Compact Car's Project 350Z. This shows the clearance of a BBS 18x9.5 +42 rim w/12mm spacer and 275/40/18 BFG KD tire.
