you will have problem with TCS/VDC since the rear smaller than front. However, just turn off TCS/VDC and you will be fine. I had the same set up and no problem so far.

Ditto. I have TSC and it works fine for the most part. Sometimes when cornering at higher speeds it will kick in, but as for as stright line I ahve no problems, I run with it off most of the time anyways.

the "slip" light will blink when you have a hard acceleration. In addition, you're from CA, you don't have to worry about traction that much.

Which tires are you looking at BTW? I too am looking at the Dunlop Direzzas and General Tires Exclaim UHP and am wondering the same thing about those sizes. I know people running Nitto 555s have to run those sizes so they must be okay.

thank you for the info guys.

i have 2004 enthusiast model, which i know i have TCS. but what's a VDC?

and i usually drive with TCS off so that is not much of an issue.

what about the appearance? i heard tire gets a little thicker as it gets wider, but will they look about the same thickness at the front and rear?

and what kind of wheel gap am i looking at with 35 in the front and 30 in the back? am i gonna have to lower the car to reduce the gap?

thank you.

im getting hankook ventus k104. i have the k104 235/45/17 and 255/45/17 on right now. i put on about 25k on it, tires are still pretty new. quiet and durable. traction is ok. not bad. just perfect for daily driving. i can get the 275/30/19 little under $200 and i just can't pass on that deal. i see other brands well over 300 dollars for that size. simply can't afford it.

hrmm, General makes a 265/30/19, wonder if that would work in the front, they also make 275/30/19, tirerack has them for both for 150 or less each. would make a nice combo if 265/30/19 works in the front.

everything ive read about general has been positive. they look like nice and have a very nice tread wear rating of 360 i believe. i guarantee they arent the best performing tires but for the price, they give you good performance at a bargain price. read some reviews at tirerack.com

yes. i was just at tirerack reading the reviews. looks very promising.

i was looking at the exclaim one and has the same sizes available.

245/35/19 and 275/30/19 35 series wasn't available for these tires either but that is a killer price.

ill definately consider this.

Just today i broke down and payed $979 shipped for 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 BFG KDW-2's. I figured it was worth the extra hundred. for more sidewall, better looks and not having to worry about throwing off traction control blah blah. Why risk it. Hell I just spent 2k for wheels might as well get good tires, why pinch the pennies, althought it was really tempting.
