I have the BFG KDW and love them. Know a guy w/ a supercharged 350Z with the GY Eagles and hate them with a passion. Also what tire with each brand?

that def must be biased or even had someone pay to do the article. for a fact GSD3's are not the TOP tire. they are good, but not top. also, hankook and sumitomo?? def NOT the top 10 of tires. try including the BFG's, Pilot Sport 2's, Pirelli Pzero ROSSO not Nero, Dunlop SP9000, Goodyear F1 supercars. Continentals are also not good handling tires and have horrible tread life usually

according to C&D mag, it was a blind testing using a point system using a BMW 325 with 225/45/17 size only. They tested dry traction, wet traction, stopping distance etc.etc.... The one tire they thought was a mistake and they had to recalculate all the data was the Continental and the result was the same......no mistakes made. The factory driver didn't even know the brand of tires he was driving.

The Pilot Sports are discontinued? - for the Pilot Sport II's I'd hope.

check out C&D.com under tires tested 12/05.
I was surprised that Hankook made the list.
Bf Goodrich actually scored the best under dry condition, but the tire had absolutely no wet traction whatsoever.
Toyo performed poorly in this test.

Hankook are sleepers, they're better than most people think.

Have you had a chance to try the REO50A's from Bridgestone. Those are pretty good tires. I think they are just about as good as PS2's because of their high price tag. The Bridgestones are 1/2 as expensive.

C&D didn't love them at all, in fact they were to lowest rated tire in the test. I guess if they worked inside at a tire shop instead of just testing cars all day long they'd know better......

Have to keep in mind the invisible rating factor: Advertising Dollars. C&D is never as unbiased as they claim, but the actual test data (as long as they didn't fudge here and there) provides some good info to make one's own decision.

One thing though for that article to note when looking at the bar graphs is that in quite a few places the position of the bar doesn't match the number AT ALL, so look closely at the numbers and ignore the bar position. Hopefully the numbers are correct and the bars wrong...lol
