Question Conti Sport Contact 2 in 305/25/20

Anyone running these tires/sizes? I'm looking to switch to a 305/25/20 for the rear and 245/30/20 for the front and it's between Conti and Pirelli in these sizes. With this Greddy TT I need maximum dry traction. My wheels are 20x9 front and 20x10.5 rear. From my research the sizes should work and it appears the Conti is better.

Thanks,
Ron

i don't have those sizes, but i do have the conti sc2's on my 19s (255/35 and 285/35). i am very happy with them and don't have any complaints or regrets.
although continental's going to discontinued this tire and its being replaced, so availability of the tire in the size you want may be limited.

You could also go with Conti 255/30/20s & 305/25/20s. They're a little closer in size and will fit your wheel sizes.

Ive seen a 305/25/20 on the rear of a Z but I didnt know the rim width or offset. It looked good and didn't look like there was any problems rubbing. I don't remember what the guy was running in the front.

and as always, call Chris at F1motorsports for the best price on these tires. I'll switch mine to 305 as soon as the current one out of tread.

roncfpz, i think i change my mind about going 25 profile since my front is 35. The car will look kinda funny. Post your pix when you get the 305 tire.

That makes sense. I'm running 255/30 in the front and that will be even with the 305/25 in diameter. I would like to have a slightly taller tire in the rear but not too many choices for us 20" wheel guys. I'll def post some pics.

Thumbs up Pictures ContiSportContact 2 305/25/20

Finally decided on purchasing the Continental ContiSportContact2 with 255/30/20 front and 305/25/20 rear. Traction has improved but still an issue with the TT setup. Will have to get a spare set of DRs on 18s for the track. The rear wheel is 20x10.5 29mm offset, fenders are cut. Here are some pics.

that what i'm talking about. The tire and wheel flush right in. Love it. How much for the rear tire? fender need to be cut? required?

can you take a side view of the car but concentrate more on the rear a bit? Thanks

I think the fenders would probably need to be cut or rolled unless you have lots of negative camber. Here's a few more.

Looks great! How much of difference in traction did you notice (if you can describe it)? What rear tire size did you change from? Are you running 10.5" rims? Did you roll/cut your fenders?

I now have 10s in the rear but I'm considering moving up to 10.5s or 11s so I can run the 305s if it's worth it. Do you think the increase in traction you got would be worth the cost of new rear wheels? Was it substantial?

At first it didn't seem like much of an improvement, but I think that was due to the cold weather at the time. I noticed about 50% better traction on Sunday when it was dry and warmer weather. I could definitely feel like it was hooking up better although the tires still break loose in 1st gear when boost kicks in, 2nd gear is better. Not sure if it's worth the cost of new rear wheels. I did it for traction AND looks.

Wheels are 10.5; changed from a 285/30/20 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. The new tires were about the same price as the Michelins.

Thanks for the info. I'm running Falkens GRBs right now with worthless traction all the way through 1st and second, so this sounds really tempting. Oh, did you roll/trim your fenders?

Road feel and noise slightly more pronounced vs. 285/30, but not much.
