Enkei RPF1 wheels
Here some pictures of my wheel / tire set-up. They are 18X8.5 +30, 18X9.5 +15 with 245 and 275 Khumo SPT's. The whole set up ( used wheels) cost about $1,250 and saved 40 pounds over the stock 18's.

The tires are terrific. Good wet and dry, sharp looking tread pattern, and a 320 tread wear rating. All at really low end pricing.
On where the wheels may be found, Performance Nissan has them on their site. Also, Discount tire will special order them.

I was asked in a PM if the lighter wheels and tires had actually made any difference in how the car drives and accelerates.
The difference was immediately obvious. The car feels more responsive, quicker, and faster. The throttle response feels more direct. The handling seems more lively, the ride seems smoother as well. EVERYTHING seems improved. It's amazing what reducing the front wheel/tire weight by 11 pounds each and the rears by 9 pound each will do. 40 pounds of unsprung weight reduction is huge, its like a different car.

Another note of interest: The Centerline wheel site says " a 1 pound reduction in rotating mass (wheels and tires) is equivalent to 8 pounds of static weight reduction" Using this formula, the 40 pounds I saved off my wheels/tires is the same as reducing the curb weight of my Z by 320 lbs!! It would take a lot of titanium and carbon fiber to cut 320 lbs off of Z.

Lowered cars look great. I lowered my Mustang Cobra because it came from the factory looking like it was set up for off roading. Where I live,(Atlanta) I frequently encounter really steep driveways that will scrape the nose even on a unlowered car. Actually, other than the much modifed wide body Porsche 914 that I used to drive, the Z is already lower, (chassis distance to ground) than any other factory car I have ever seen. I seriously doubt that lowereing the car would yield any good result. In fact, it would introduce all sorts of geometry issues that mignt be regrettable. As it now sits, the +15 rears are super close to rubbing on the fenders. Any lower, and it would require rolled fenders. I'd rather avoid that, as well as funky handling characteristics, odd tire wear, etc. I'll stick with the OEM ride height. I've owned a lot of cars over the years, and made tons of modifications (and tons of mistakes) that had to be corrected. But I agree , lowered cars really look cool.
