Hmm yeah........ Im definately NOT throwing away the set of rims that havent even arrived at my house yet. I ordered on the 6th, and to the best of my knowledge they havent even LEFT yet! ERRRRR.

Yes I have 17s.....and Ive also asked 100x if i should compare to 17s or 18s. To the best of my knowledge NEITHER is the right answer. 17s are not anywhere near 18s in over all diameter yet it seems like the car doesnt care. So why would it care if we strayed off of what was already goofed up.

Im ordering 255 40 19s for the rear now cause this is just plain retarded. If I was a wealthy doctor, lawyer, or plastic surgen like half you guys I would gladly throw some 10" wide rims that cost 3grand on there and run a 275. Unfortunately Im 23, have 2 carpayments, a girlfriend being put through college, 2 student loans, high *** insurance and a REALLY REALLY crappy paying job. Nuff said.

Can you tell I had a shitty day at work?!

Sorry, dude, but coming from a guy with a "touchscreen TV" in his car? When I was in college, I had a 1978 Fiat131 Super Brava and a 50 hour/week job. If you were THAT concerned about money, wouldn't a Civic hatchback be a fine car to thump around in? Not trying to flame here, just making a point...

I'd have spent the dough on a proper wheel set-up. Wheels make or break the car!

HREWheelmaker,
Thanks for checking with Pirelli. I know I've missed the GB , but I wanted to see some of the wheels others have chosen before I make my choice. I'm thinking 9.5X19 and 19X11 547R's with the 275/30 and 305/30 Rosso's if they will fit with rolling the fender. I'm anxious to hear what you find out.

Default Wadd,Why not run....

Wadd,Why not run 225/40-19 up front and a 245/40-19 out back.I also have a enthusiast,When I upgrade to 19's I will match up with the 18's overall diameter, the wheel well gap is tighter.
Stock 17's od's are 25.9f & 26.3r
Stock 18's od's are 26.0f & 26.7r
225/40-19 & 245/40-19 with pilot's are 26.1f & 26.7r
This is the set up I will be going with.If I am wrong someone let me know.

go play here http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

HREWheelMaker good point, but you dont know the whole story.

That was purchased for less then most of you guys paid for your aftermarket CD players haha. My sub was given to me 6 years ago along with my amp. My components are OLD but still work. I hold on to things untill they blow up. Just how I am.

I work all day then come home and do my home business to pay for mods. Thats ALL i do with that money is mods. Its not much, but its enough to make the car a little nicer. Its hard to keep up with the big buys but I do what I can.

PS- i do take offense to that civic comment. CUMMON man!~

If you worked 50hrs a week and drove a POS then you werent working at the right place hahah

HRE- what do you do for a living now? Are the wheels a side line? Im just wondering what degree you got. I know i dont want to work for someone else my whole life and it looks like aftermarket car parts is a good place to start if you want your OWN gig.

I went to Cal Poly Pomona- went in as a Mechanical Engineer, came out with a degree in Business Management, with emphasis on small business.

HRE is a full-time gig for me: I've been there for four years now. I started as the "Technical Sales" guy, but have moved my way into Operations as a Project Manager.

Basically, I locate, measure, and spec new vehicles, work with vendors and clients (Nissan, TRD, and Saleen to name a few- the Saleen S7 deal we made was my 'baby'), established and personally check machining and final QA, do PR and marketing (set-up photo shoots, arrange vehicles, plan the annual SEMA show)... I'm sort of the resident technical guru and go-to guy.

I'm obviously a car-guy, and I'm definitely a company-guy, so I spend a fair amount of time surfing the car forums to keep in touch with current trends, see what people want, and how we can make HRE fit into all of this.

Franky, there are better paying jobs (in my field) out there, but the reality is: I love what I do. I have a few other pans in the fire, but working "in the business" is a great way to do some networking, and get other stuff started. The guys that do well in the aftermarket are the guys who have integrity- if you're looking to make a quick buck, you'll get eaten alive.

The Civic comment, well... right back at you- who said the Fiat was a POS? That car is turbocharged, and it would "stomp a stock 350Z like a narc at a biker rally."

My daily driver is a 1985 Toyota MR2 (turbocharged- also not a POS, it pulled .98g on 17" HREs/Pirelli P7000 on a dusty 300 ft skidpad), so a Civic would be a step up in terms of newness. Oh, and the Fiat... I still have it (no TVs in any of my cars). Wanna run?

Your kinda a punk.............. I like that

Your job sounds pretty fun. I work for Yamaha presently and the jobs nice, just doesnt pay well. Its neat to see something go from cad, to the test track, to the market.

HRE hiring ????

HeHeHe...

Yep, I say what I mean, mean what I say- I worked too hard to get where I am to get walked all over It's all good.

What's your specialty? CAD? We use ProE mostly. As HRE gets into a few other things this year, we will probaby need help. Shoot a resume to our Operations Manager (an Engineer really) apeltier@hrewheels.com
