Pirelli has it in the P-Zero Asimmetrico (unfortunately it is not available in the new Pirelli P-Zero Rosso).

The Toyo is a great choice. You could use it with the 275/35-19 rear.

I have four 255-35 R19's on their way to me (Toyo Proxies T1S), but I really want 275's for the back, so I'd sell you the other two for a decent amount (possibly even all four). E-mail me at dmcclan@burnsmcd.com if interested.

HREWheelmaker,

In another thread you mention 315/35 18's on 11's fitting with some fender mods. Pirelli lists a 305/30 19 P-Zero Rosso . Is it available and will it fit the Z on 11's? If mods are necessary to fit them, what are they, just fender rolling or more?

Thanks for your help,
Bob

My Pirelli book shows only a 305/25-19, and in the 'old' P-Zero Asimmetrico pattern. I've used this tire before on the rear of a 993 Twin Turbo, and it fits well on a 19x11. Unfortunately, it is rediculously short (low profile) for the 350Z. The next size up is 335/25-19, a better height, but will require serious inner & outer fender mods to fit the 350Z.

However, Pirelli does make the 'new' P-Zero Rosso in 315/30-18. This would be a great tire combined with a 265/35-18 front. The 275/35-18 would fit, but is .1" taller than the 315/30-18.

I've used the 315/30-18 Rosso on the rear of a few Ferrari 360 Modenas, and the customers all loved this tire...

Your buddy doesn't know ***t! LOOK AROUND MAN! TOYO! PIRELLI! CONTINENTAL! This has been told to you numerous times. Do the research!

You already know that a 255 is NOT reccomended on a 8" rim so why are you beating this subject to death? Put (4) 245s on them and be done with it! YOU BOUGHT FOUR 8" RIMS! If you didn't want four of the same size tires why did you buy the rims?

HREWheelmaker ,
I got my info from the Pirelli website. They list both 305/25 and
305/30 19. Pirelli page

Is the tire combo you are using 275/30 and 295/30 19 P-Zero Rossos?

Thanks again,
Bob

Yes we know contiental has them, but i dont want to run that. Pirelli shows it on the site but we SPOKE with Pirelli and they said that was a mistake. If that person was WRONG its not MY fault. I am doing the research but apparently everyone i speak to doesnt have a clue on the receiving end.

Tire Rack has the Pirellis and they are in stock for $259.00 Michellin is yet another brand that makes that size.

What don't you like about the continental? Standard equipment on Porsche 911s and the best treadwear rating for a high performance tire at 280.

I have e-mailed my friend at Pirelli about the 305/30-19 and 305/25-19 status. Pirelli also lists a 355/25-19, which I could use on a number of cars... I'll let you know what he says.

Regards,
Bob

I think that would look real good.

I also found four other places that have the Pirelli 255/35/19 in stock.

1. Victoriatire.com
2. 1010tires.com
3. Performancewheel.com
4. Tyres4less.com

I will send you my bill

Are you the guy with 19x8 Axis? Better just run 245/35-19 and call it a day- 245/35-19 is already a bit wide for an 8"...
I personally would prefer a 19x8.5 for a 245/35-19 and a 19x9 for the 255/35-19.

Ciao,
Bob

Are the Continental ContiSport Contact or Contact 2's the ones I should run?

Look like a decent tire

I've have owned two sets of Pirellis and my only knock against them is that they don't last long and get noiser with age. So I am trying the Continental Contact 2. I was thinking about the Toyos also.

From the reviews I have read the Contact 2s are also quieter than the Pirellis. Tread wear rating on the Pirellis is 220 the Continentals are 280. The Toyos also are 280. All have the same traction rating.

255/35/19 in the rear is not tall enough. The stock 245/45/18 rear tire has an overall diameter of 26.68 inches, and the 255/35/19 is only 26.02 inches. You reallly should put a 275/35/19 on the rear. If you bought an 8 inch rear rim, get rid of it and buy a 9.5 or 10 inch wide rear rim.

tire diameters
225/45/18 - 25.97 inches
245/45/18 - 26.68 inches

245/35/19 - 25.75 inches
255/35/19 - 26.02 inches
275/35/19 - 26.59 inches

Stray too much from the original tire diameters (and especially the front to rear ratio) and you my encounter problems with ABS, traction control, etc. I've seen it happen to a few friends and it was pretty funny (since it wasn't my car). With all the electronics kicking in their cars looks like a total spazz and was not drivable. Just keep your overall diameters close to stock and you'll be okay.

ummmm....he has the 17's....not the 18's.

The 255/35/19 is only -0.9% smaller....he's fine.
