Default Base model TPS conversion

I have a friend with a base Z and he wants to install the TPS sensors on his Z. I've done a couple of searches and no luck. Is it possible to install it on a base Z, and if so, has it been done? Could it just be unlocking something in the ECU? If there is actually hardware(other than the sensors) missing, is it possible to buy and install this stuff? Thanks for any help

I seriously doubt you could add it to a base. You'll need the Low Tire Pressure Warning Control Unit and the Antenna plus the sensors of course.

I doubt his ECU has the functionality in it either. If he toggles through the triple-meter display, I'm sure he doesn't get the Tire Pressure display, correct?

Then you also have the issue of whether or not the wiring harness has the connections.

Here's the diagram of what you're dealing with...

there are some aftermarket units that do the job, but I don't think there is anyway to have a factory setup...

Thumbs up

Tell your freind to save his $ for a set of new tires i.e. BFG KD's or KDW's and check our tire pressure the old fashion way.
