Yeah exactly, the harder and louder they have to be, the more they (the theiving bastards) won't take the risk.

A big sledge hammer and big cheisel will snap it clean off also. But again, it is a deterrent.

I don't think I'd own a nice car without having a garage to store it in. I'd stress out to much!

I hope your insurance pays up!

I agree, it is a deterent. I've got them. I just thought I'd post there is a pretty easy way to get them off relatively quickly if you have the right tools.

Default robbed too

same **** happened to my car last night (now on blocks) and I'm deciding between the konig verdict, tantrum, or blatants. did you get 18" by 8' all the way around or 18' by 8.5 in the back? How much for rims and did you find anything cheaper than $235 each? What kind of tires & how muc.

Sorry to hear that, it is a really violating feeling.

Koing is okay but not very high of quality. I’ve never heard of the other one. I got 18" x 9" in the front with 18" x 10" in the rear. Make sure they both have a +30-35 offset or you will get tire rub.

I got Racing Harts CR two piece that ran $550 each with Bridgestone P-1 wheels at $200 each. I wouldn't have spent so much money, but insurance paid for them and since the stock 17" rims are around $650 each w/out tires they had no problem with going to customs. They look really nice and are a pain in the *** to take off.

I also recommend only getting gorilla wheel locks. They have an external security pattern so need the key to get them off. I got the 16 piece lock set and a 4 piece set so that ever lug needs one of the two keys.

Hey, I just came across this thread. Sorry to hear about your wheels. The same thing happened to me with my GSR a couple years ago. It's a really crappy feeling when you see your car sitting there with no wheels.

In my case, it was in my apartment parking lot in a safe neighborhood. There's no stopping a couple of determined sh%*head criminals. I had an alarm and wheels locks. They got in the loacked car without damaging anything (slim jim?), popped the hood, disconnected the battery to stop the alarm, found the lock key in the trunk (stupid me didn't have it locked away), and swiped 'em. Neither me nor any of my neighbors heard a thing. After that I bought a little cash box and kept the wheel lock key in there, and kept the box in my trunk. A determined thief could still get the lock out of the box with a couple hammer strikes, but I figured it was another level of security. Maybe if it happened again they'd figure it was too much of a hassle or quit because it was taking too long.

Hope you got some nice wheels!

That's not your spare tire there is it? Sucks and all, but they were either unprepared or really inginuitive if they used it to prop up the car.

Thumbs up By the way

I got Gorilla Wheel locks. The are way better than those flower crap locks. Also, I have a 16 piece lock set and a 4 piece set giving them way more trouble than they would be able to handle, plus I take the keys in the house at night.

I live in Albany (next to Berkeley & El Sobrante) and got my tires/wheels swiped last night inside an underground garaged in a fenced condo complex.

This post has been helpful to move on.

oh man same thing happened to my bro's 330CI a while ago. Same like you, he thinks that his car comes with wheel lock, but guess what, the $40k plus price tag doesnt include a set LOL
Police didn't do anything and this happened in cupertino, CA, supposedly an upper class community. His car was also left on stones jacking the brakes. You might want to check if your brake system is damaged or not, cos his is. Good luck!

Hot DAMN! I live like five minutes away from El Sobrante and less than ten minutes from Albany. Sorry to hear about your losses guys... Man, I'm already uneasy with my Z in a garage living in the area that I am... (this coming from living in Mill Valley, Marin County for the previous 14+ years).
