Thats a Very Good Point. I went through 3 sets of "Cheap" lugs on my Volvo before I spend the money on some high quality Slpine Lugs and have been happy since. I could have just saved myself the trouble and purchased good ones from the get go..

One thing,, the Stock nuts look to be fairly high quality, What nut set would be considered 1 step up? Also, I just purchased some wheels and I was wondering if there are any "special" lugs I need to purchase, On previous wheels for other cars I have always had to get "Tuner" lugs that are either Spline or Hex Style (Thinner diameter)?

Niiiiiiiiice. Maybe I shoulda spent the extra $50 and bought those R40's (it's R40 BTW) instead of the Trust lugs. I read that the finish/coating on those Kics lugs are super durable too.

I hope the Trust lugs don't ding easily. We'll see though, as I'm leaving in 4 days to fly to Phoenix to my bro's house and I can finally see those rims that I bought. Thought I'd save some $$$ on shipping to Hawaii and send them to Phoenix, spend my vacation there, and return with my rims as luggage.

I can't freakin' wait to lay my eyes on em in the flesh.

Most wheel locks are pointless anyway. I can take my r40 locking nuts off with one of those gator sockets. They basically use a spring loaded set of rods that adjust to any shape. They make multiple sizes so they can fit in the wholes. I was pissed to find out a $10 socket rendered my wheel locks useless.

Checked in. I was planning on having the tires mounted on em too, and spending extra $80 per extra luggage, and $40 per box for extra weight.

Found out from Hawaiian that you can Air Ship tires. I have no idea why.

So I'm checking in my Advan RGII's (from Status Auto BTW), taping two wheel boxes together (only 35-38lbs for 2 of the boxes taped together). I'm planning on shoving some extra clothes and stuff in the boxes to make the 50lb weight limit, so I dont' have to carry to much for my carry on.

I've been planning this for a while.

Tomorrow, I'm gonna buy some Swift Springs, send them to my brothers house in Phoenix again, and hand carry those on too. Also, I'm just gonna buy the tires from onlinetires.com and send them to Phoenix yet again, and use cheaper USPS shipping to send the tires to Hawaii by boat (getting Falken FK-451).

Only thing that's being sent direct to Hawaii, or have been sent are the Trust lugs. Living in Phoenix for 5 years, I took for granted the free, or cheap ground shipping usually offered by web businesses. Hawaii kinda sucks because of all the expensive shipping offered. We're relegated to next day, 2-day, or 3 day shipping... expensive shipping overseas to the 808.

Damn, I can't wait... flying to Phoenix on Thursday afternoon (4/20), getting back the following Wednesday (4/26), then spending half a day back in Hawaii;... then flying to the Phillippines on the 4/27, then finally getting back 5/10.

So I really can't see the finished product till maybe 5/11, and that's if I can actually put those springs on myself, or let the local shop do it. Still debating, as I'm very paranoid about lazy *** techs and how the majority could give a damn about a customer's car.

At least this Thursday, I can finally see those rims in the flesh. Need the R&R, but just thinking of those rims and drop on the car while kickin' it may just drive me crazy... it' already is.

This thread is a little old, but I was doing a search on the lightest weight lug nuts.

For comparison:
Kics R40: 40 grams (~1.4 oz)
Kics R26: 26 grams (~0.9 oz)
Ray's Duralumin: ~23 grams (0.8 oz)

(I've seen Ray's advertised in ounces and Kics advertised in grams).

So, by the slightest of margins, Ray's Duralumin wins as lightest lug nuts!

Of course I did see some titanium ones listed somewhere.....

That looks like the R40's with titanium color...only.
So it's probably like 42 grams each (add the paint).
It's not real titanium. The lugs listed on page 1 of this thread are real titanium, but I didn't see weights on them.
