I'll set the scale to the exact settings when I re-weigh which should give a good idea on added weight

My wifes E90 330i has chrome wheels and they are soooo easy to clean and take care of.... soap / rinse... and windex if you want a real shine take some P21S and WATCH OUT!
I cant wait till these are done!

Yeah, but couldn't you just shoot some clear coat on it after the sanding and polishing?

yeah id just have them metal polished then re-cleared
btw p21s, in fact any carnauba, wont last very long on a wheel. The heat and brake dust will eat it away
try a synthetic or acrylic with no cleaners like Zaino Z2 or Klasse SG on the rims

I have some very slight damage on one of my wheels from a retarded body shop that did work on my car. Also, there are a few slight blemishes on the lip from something corrosive getting on them...
I talked to a shop in the area and they told me they can strip the entire wheel down, powder coat the spokes, and apply a new clear coat for about $200 a wheel. I know its not chrome, but paying $800 to refinish the entire set is definitely worth more than buying all new wheels. You can also do some custom powder coating on the center (black chrome, metallic fleck, etc).
I plan on doing this in a year or two when the scuffs on my lips start to build up and look ugly.

The chroming of the lips is only gonna cost me a bit under 800 actually... It is not very expensive at all, you might go crazy waiting though... I am...
UPDATE:
I am still waiting to get my wheels back... They have had them now for 18 days and I am getting frustrated after they told me it should only take about 10 days... I hate driving around in my stock's now... It is funny how much inset they are after you get used to seeing the Volks filling out the wheel well.
I will definately be a picture ***** when I get these back on. I will also weigh them again before I re-install them so you can see the weight difference.

It is looking like I will most likely have Caliente do them though they way work has been going...
I should have the wheels and pics up by the end of this week / Sat. The barrels came in yesterday afternoon and they have to re-assemble and balalnce them.

If you use black chrome, its not actually a chrome its a paint and it will give you the chrome "look" with out the weight. My rims actually weigh less than your Volks.

Hmmm, Ok how can ya tell which the front faces from the rears? I want to make sure they don't "F" that up...
I went to check them out today, they called me saying they were done... Well 3 out of the four looked pretty good but the 4th was screwed up

What kinda ticked me off is that these are "wheel guys" right... Well why did they even re-assemble them if it was like this? It was almost is if they were hoping I would not notice that or something... the messed up wheel was under the other 3 positioned in such a way that if I just glanced I woulda said OK put em on!...
I inspected the hell out em first though and cought em off guard I guess... Well it looks like it's gonna frickn be another couple a weeks now

It took over 20 days the first time when they said it would take only 8-10..... /sigh
By the time I get my wheels back my BBK should be here soon after..

They didnt give me any trouble at all about it... I just asked the guy one simple question... If they were your wheels would you accept them? His answer was a simple "no"
The other 3 did look frickn really nice though!
