255/45/18's on the back...good idea!!
My Bridgestones finally wore down (33K miles) so i ordered a set of 255/45/18 Sumitomo's for the rear. What a difference!! In addition to looking much more substantial (the view from the rear with the awesome looking tread on the tires is very nice!!), but the car handles even better!!
If anyone is looking to upgrade the tires on the stock rim, go for this size tire on the back. The tire isnt so wide that it bulges off the side of the stock wheel and it improves the look and handling a lot.

Yes they will fit stock Anniversary rims no problem. My car has VDC and no problems whatsoever. The tires are great....but im not pushing Sumitomos specifically here, im just pushing the tire size for when folks upgrade.

Debating which is better, 255/40 or 255/45... 45 is closer to stock than the 40; just slightly bigger. Running a 40 will be underdriving the car slightly, giving a little help to acceleration and less sidewall to flex, but the tire may look smaller and the speedo will be off more.

Maybe I should have told the rest of the story. I have Potneza S-03 Pole Position tires with 245/40-18 front and 255/40 rear on 9" SSR Comp-H wheels. The 245/40 front and 255/40 rear give the car very good oversteer/understeer balance at the limit. I also have adjustable upper "A" arms on all four corners so I can completely control my toe and camber settings.
