Default Poll: Which wheel do you like better?

Okay... before anyone says "buy what you like", I like both of these. I want to see what everyone else thinks. Please check the pics and brief comment, then vote (and respond if necessary).

I apologize for the very poor photo-editing... was just trying to get a feel for how each wheel would look on brickyard instead of other colors.

Here's the first.... iforged's Senekas... I think these look very classy and work well with the Brickyard color...

and here are SSR GT3s. I'm actually considering GT1s, but the only appearance difference between them are rivet vs no rivets.

I like these because they look sportier and are a little less expensive then the Seneka's...

Thumbs up iForged

First off thanks for the photoshop of the Senekas. I've been wondering what they would look like on a Brick since I saw the picture of them on a Redline that's been floating around the forum.

I love the look of the brushed aluminum and like you said they look very classy. I'd really like to see a set of polished Senekas on a Brick since polished wheels look great on a dark car.

Bottom line: go with the one that catches your eye more. The SSR's might be cheaper, but you don't want to be kicking yourself down the line. Plus the fact that the iForged are custom made and can have any combination of widths, lips and off-sets you want is a big selling factor.

My vote: iForged of course.

I like these w/o rivets. I just don't like rivets in a wheel, the simplest are the best, for my money.

Yo Andy,

I say get the SSR's. Much more of a sports car looking wheel, I think. The other ones are too spoke-y, if that's a word. The SSR's look much more aggressive.

Darrin,

I agree the SSRs look much more sports car-esque. But that was my problem with selecting.

Ultimately, i decided that the SSR GT1 and GT3s look great on a Z that is a sporty color (Daytona Blue, Redline, Chrome Silver, etc.). But, for some reason, look kind of out of place on Brickyard.

On the otherhand, I think that the Senekas enhance the Brickyard's "classier" color. So... I have decided on the Iforged wheels.

Thank you to everyone for your input. BTW, keep voting on the poll. I'd like to see what the concensus winds up being from the crowd. Ultimately, I think I will be very happy with my choice!

That makes sense too. Are you sticking with 18's or going bigger, Also, are you considering a brake upgrade as well? You could get Dennis to help you install this stuff.

no brake upgrade for me.. the stock stuff seems to work fine.

Going with 18s... 8" wide up front and 9" wide in the back. Could have went wider, but figured I would not go wider than 275s on the back and the 9s can handle that in a 40 profile tire. More likely, I'll go 235s on the front and 255s on the back when the time comes to replace rubber.

Another thing to consider...if you ever mess up your rim bad (pot hole, curb...deer...you know, the normal stuff), try to get a replacement lip from SSR...

iForged (like HRE/Fikse/Kinesis) is local (in the US anyways) and they could just send you an outer lip or whatever to fix your wheel or you could send it back for repairs...it's kinda nice to have that...

...of course, the FULL customizability of the iForged wheels is a plus also...maximum lip...

Why not the Aeros? Nice clean 5-spoke wheel...

I actually started a thread about this a while back and reaction here and from friends I have shown the above two pictures seem to back up my theory.

Basically, my feeling is that the fewer spokes, the sportier the wheel. Not always true, but in general. The more spokes or more complex BBS-style, the more upscale or classy the wheel looks. Again, this is in general, now always. In between you have a moderate number of spokes, which can go either way. This has nothing to do with the color/finish of the wheel... just a comparison with all wheels having a silver, brushed finish.

How does this tie to the Z? After looking at other people's pictures for months on this forum, I noticed that the color of the Z seemed to dictate the best looking wheel on it.

A sporty color (Redline, Lemans SS, Daytona Blue) always seem to look better with fewer spokes.

"Classier" colors (I wish I could come up with a better word than classy to describe them) tend to look better with a complex design.

Neutral colors can go either way.

That's why it took me so long to decide on the Senekas... The only pic I have seen with them on a 350Z was the Redline. While that looks good, I thought that the SSRs and Aeros I had seen on other colors looked better on the Redline. Not many pics floating around of aftermarket wheels on Brickyards...

Wow! I'm amazed at how even this poll is. counting my friends responses locally, it is almost 50/50... here we got a 6-2 vote in favor for the Senekas. Guess both wheels are equally aesthetically pleasing!

To anyone with Senekas out there????
How hard has it been to keep them clean?

Seems SSR's would be one wipe and your done,
though I like the Seneka's myself and plan to
get them for a Roadster this summer.

I do LIKE the feature that you can replace part of the wheel if you even dent it, PLUS it is stronger in the 1st place, a NO lose situation.

Tough call, but I have to choose the Senekas. They just look too good with the brick.

Just stopped by to check out the results on my pole and cannot how close these two wheels are ranking with everyone!

I guess they're both really nice. I've already ordered the Senecas... maybe I'll order a set of SSR GT1's also and swap them on and off every couple of weeks.
