Hey Guys,
Just bought Enkei RPF1's and my rear tires are rubbing on any little dip or bump. I have the eibach pro kit 1 inch drop. The size in the rear are 18*9.5 +15 offset and i have avon 550 tires 275/40 18. I have a couple of question if anyone can help.

1. If I roll the fenders, will they still rub?

2. For you New Yorkers out there, do you guys know any trustworthy places to roll my fenders (nassau county preferred) or should i bring it to any good bodyshop.
(not sure if i trust myself doing the baseball bat rolling)

3. If fender rolling can't fix the problem should I go back to stock springs or buy new tires (275/35) and sell my tires with about 10 miles


I spoke to the guy at enkei and he said there wasn't going to be a problem even with the drop and the aggressive offset so i didn't bother planning on rolling the fenders when the rims came. my car is a daily driver and i drive to work so you can imagine the situation that im in.

Any feedback would be great.

Where do the tires rub? Photo is always helpful. What do the tires rub?

The camber in the rear looks crazy if i get the alignment it will probably be even worse.

You definitely have to roll. I was contemplating getting the RPF1's and I knew I would have to roll because of the +15 offset. Doesn't help that you are in pothole prone NY either.

Good choice on wheels! Lighter than my TE-37's.

 

It appears that the inside edge of the fender is catching the outer edge of the tire. You have little choice but to roll the fenders.

Anybody in new york that can recommend a place to roll them. I dont want to risk cracking the paint myself. I spoke to these guys at american muffler, they do alot of domestics and they recommended to cut the inside into different segements then to take the baseball bat to roll. Their reasoning, less pressure to roll = less chance off cracking. Even that seems scary cuz the inside will have sharp edges.

Any New Yorkers out there. Need trustworthy people to work on car.

 

even after rolling you are going to need a pretty decent amount of camber (my guess is -2.5 degrees) to avoid rubbing

 

I dont know exactly what the camber is right now but it seems to be at a decent angle. my question is will this highly affect the wear of my tire? If so what other solution do i possibly have?

also if i get an alignment will i need to get a camber correction kit?

 

just to let you guys know i brought my z to the place that mounted my tires, Speed world (tirerack recommended). they tried to roll the fenders at first but ended up cutting it instead. although it sounds a lil scary to cut a part of your car off, it cured my problem. one concern i might have in the future is rusting. most likely ill buy some type of rust remover or rust protectant and see if that will work.
