Default Cracked Axis Hiro's!! Pics!!

For any of you considering buying Axis brand you might want to reconsider. After going through 2 sets of wheels from Axis I finally broke down and bought Volks.. Axis told me the first batch of hiro's were bad and the 2nd batch were good but they CRACKED too..

The first and second set was covered but Axis was not very friendly about it. I have since purchased Volks and couldn't be happier.. Beware of Axis as alot of other 350z owners now know..
Cheers,
brooke

maybe not cracked but ive seen a few pics of some pretty bent up ones. brooke what sidewall series are you running with your wheels? 30 series? if so that very little protection for them. maybe instead of bending the axis wheels crack, either way, the rims is pretty screwed. volks are not indestructable. and yes i own volks.

Well said Nexx and I doubt any wheel is and I have driven my axis over some serious pot holes here in Los Angeles and anyone who drives in LA can tell you we don't have the best roads out here....

hiros were my second choice next to the diamond black volk gt7's i purchased. maybe i should buy a set of hiros and switch them with my gt7's from time to time. btw, check this thread out. https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-tires/189148-do-not-give-work-wheels-your-business.html

I seen that thread Nexx but I wonder if the fact that most use extreme low profile tires can attribute to most bends. I myself even hit some nasty holes after a rain storm and thought for sure my wheels were damaged but luckily nothing yet....

Yikes! That's one mean crack!

fahrenheit350 has TE37 on his Z that are not cracked, not bent, but WARPPED!?!?!

How it happenend? He's not evan exactly sure, but you can see it!

Just goes to show that as well as things are made to perfection, $hit happens!

bent and cracked are totally different, youre life isnt in danger when driving on a bent rim, now cracked on the other hand !

The sidewall I was running was a 35 not 30. The main reason I posted this is because some Vender over on 350zmotoring is pushing these rims again to unsuspecting z owners... Turns out he is a new Vender for the site and after I hyjacked the thread on how they crack they banned me. My main concern was protecting others from going through the crap I had to go through and most important the Safety Aspect of it all... I would rather have a Rim Bend instead of CRACK anyday...

Its a Trade Off, You make the Wheel too Soft and it will bend easily and never crack. You make the wheel too hard and it is unlikley to bend but may crack. Axis strives for light weight wheels that are super strong. It looks like their alloy is a bit too hard for its own good.

If the Hiro is cracking like that, I wonder how the Hollow Reverbs are doing?

That's an ugly crack.

Maybe you can put a bandaid and fix it.
