I recommend the OEM width plus minus 20mm. Go for it.

Yes it'll work and will look a lot nicer than the 265.

well i somehow managed to drive over a fat screw that entered the tire from bottom and penetrated the sidewall....so needless to say the tire was gone

none of the local shops had the potenza reo50a in stock

but i found someone that had a conti sport contact 2 in the same size in stock, the tread is very similar, so i went for it.

but i'm def. changing to 285/35/19 when it's time to change tires
the 265's look stretched anyways

Will work perfectly and look fantastic. That is the same setup I have on my GTc as of two days ago. 285/35/19 rear and 255/40/18 front. No VDC issues. No rubbing concerns.

But do keep in mind that your speedo reading will be slightly off. Also, the brand of tire you choose will also affect rubbing. E.g. BFG KDW2 is a chunky tire while Toyo Proxes are not. I went with the latter.

A 285/30 will keep your overall diameter closer to stock, hence your speedo will be more accurate than a 35 series

No it won't

With an 80.8" circumference, a 285/35 rear tire is 2.1% slower than stock, so when speedo shows 60mph, I am actually doing 61.3mph.

With an 84.4" circumferance, a 285/30 rear tire is 2.2% faster than stock, so when speedo shows 60mph, the car would actually be doing 58.7mph.

Besides, VDC will not like the 285/30 nearly as much as it likes 285/35, even if the front sidewall is reduced by 5mm as well. The reason it works fantastically with my 285r 255f setup is because that combo yields nearly the exact same size ratio of front/rear as OEM does. It is only off by 0.001. Yes, I built an entire Excel spreadsheet around tire selection a few weeks ago with a half a dozen different sizes to see what combo should work best and to test the advice of folks on my thread on the same topic

That's weird because moving up from 224/45/18's and 245/45/18's to 245/40/18's and 265/40/18's keeps the overall diameter almost the same as stock sizes.

Wonder why it's so much different moving up from 265/35/19's to 285/30/19's.

Trippy..

Sorry airtrackk! I got a bit sidelined since your PM. A mod had also PM'd me requesting tire/wheel pics, so here they are from various angles. Hope this helps!

As my sig suggests, fronts are 255/40 on OEM GT 18x9 wheels and rears are 285/35 on OEM GT 19x10 wheels. Toyo Proxes T1R.

The great offset of these wheels is what truly makes this rear tire size look good.

Thanks, and you're welcome. I'm glad Nissan went with the staggered setup for GTc and Track. Volks certainly do rule!

Just going by your sig, I presume you're at stock ride height, usmanasif? Damn, that's smooth.

Yes, it is stock. The slightly-larger-than-OEM diameter of these two tire sizes makes it look as though the car is lowered...plus the 19s themselves give that illusion. I was asked which coilovers I had at our most recent local meet!
