I believe the stock studs are 40mm in length. The thread pattern is 12mmx1.25 I think, hopefully someone can confirm this. For an 8mm spacer I don't think you need longer studs. I think a spacer over 10mm and a longer stud is recommended. I hope this is helpful. Anyone else know?

Even with a 5mm Spacer you should get a longer stud. Stock is 40mm, get a set of 50mm Nismo Studs from Performance Nissan OR buy the Complete Spacer kit with Studs from H&R from Performancenissanparts.com

I'll bump this one from the grave...

When people say that the OEM stud is 40mm long, is that the length of the threaded portion? Or is that the total length of the nurled section plus the threaded portion?

Thanks for the recommendation. Says the underhead length is 3.00" [76.2 mm]. I've read that the stock studs are 40mm long. Should I assume that the 40mm is the same "underhead" dimension as is used to decribe the ARP studs?

What I'm after is: If the OEM stud is 40mm long, and I replace it with ARP studs that are 76.2 mm long, and I add a 10mm spacer, then the net gain in the amount that the stud protrudes thru the wheel is 76.2 - 40 - 10 = 26.2 mm. So I'm thinking that means I would need to run extended lugnuts or open ended lug nuts to accommodate this extra length.

Is my logic sound? And if so, knowing that 10mm is the thickest spacer I will run, would I be better off using a new stud that is only 50mm long so that the net stud protrusion gain is zero and I can keep using the same lugnuts I currently have?

Yes you will need open ended lugs, but once you get them you can run any spacer up to 20mm and you have the strongest stud on the market.

If you haven't purchased the spacers yet, the Eibachs include extended studs that do not require open-ended lugs. However, the studs would not be as strong as the ARPs. This shouldn't be a problem is you're not tracking the car.

Another option, I believe, would be to cut the ARPs to length. According to a thread on G35driver, they could be cut without weakening the stud. Also, I think there was one person who claimed to have spoken with someone at ARP, who told him that ordering custom lengths was possible. Just relaying what I've read on the subject.
