hey guys, so my buddy picked up a set of NISMO LGMT4's off a Z that caught on fire...1 of the wheels got burnt a little (enought that it turned half the wheel like blackish) but the tires were still on the wheels...melted a little ,but not burnt off...

do you think they are garbage now? would the heat have destroyed their integrety?

i can pick them up off him for a really good price and have them powdercoated, but i dont wana just waste my time and money if they arent worth it now...

eh, i shoulda taken some when i was down there...3 are really clean the other looks as if i could buff the black off it...not all that bad at all

Ive read about some powder coating techniques being too hot for some alloys, and fire can be many times hotter than that. Huge thread on 6speed about it. Good deal though... paint and sell for 5x more!

 

19x9.5 19x10.5.... bought for 400$

EDIT- Oh just read they were the set that was involved in the fire. Now I understand.

I agree with what Wais said below me, have someone check them out but $400 is a steal especially for the 9.5 and 10.5 setup.

 

Look fine to me, not as bad as I thought they would be from your earlier post.

I would have a knowledgable wheel repairer take a look at them just to confirm though.

 

We thru them on a balancer to look for any warping... Saw nothing, the stickers didn't even melt off lol

got three of the wheels all stripped down and ready for powdercoat! they really are cleaning up nice!!
