front rear swap

I know this may seem like a wierd question but would a rear rim (stock 17") work up front on stock tires?

rear wheel will work up front, but the OE tire for the rear is too large...

would have to change tire sizes...

17”x8” with 235/50R17 96W on the front? I don't see why not.
