This is likely to get me flamed by the go-really-fast crowd here but I have a question on replacement tires down the road.

Cost of replacement tires I've been seeing here is $800-$1200. I find this breath-taking. As more companies produce tires for the Zzzzzz is it likely one or more tire manufacturers will produce a tire rated at, say, 120 MPH but costing only a hundred bucks or so each? I mean good, sticky skins that are reliable but just not rated at 160 mph +/-.

I'd gladly trade a lower speed rating for a less expensive skin.
