Default Rear wheels/tires on front

I have a second set of 17" stock wheels and considering putting rear wheel/tire combination on front so that I can rotate front to rear as tire wear.

What do you think.

I think that might *** up the VDC and make your car handle a lot differently.

If any tire/wheel Gurus know the answer, I would also be interested. Non-staggered would seem to lend a more neutral set up and have the practical advantage of rotation, except for the TPMS knowing which end is up.

...and on a more serious note: members debate if TCS is sensitive to tire height. Maybe yes. Maybe no. Put 8.0 inch wheels all around and take the Z for a drive. What is the worse that can happen?

Did you put the 8.0 inch wheels all around?

Default 18 X 8 with Same Size Tires All Around

I thought I might have a way to lessen the feathering impacts on my 04 by putting the same size (rear) tire all around, and then rotating when the roar started. I've been running for 6,000 miles that way with no complaints from the electronics. But the roar is beginning.

Decided today to rotate, and noticed a funny sensation when torquing down the fronts by hand -- the lugs just felt different as I alternated between them. It felt like I was taking up the same slack over and over.

Anyhow, pulled front and back off and saw that the wheel spokes, even though the basic dimensions/offset are the same (18X8, offset 30), have markings indicating different Nissan part numbers and the wheels are actually stamped "Front" and "Rear".

I decided to put them back until I can sort out if there is a safety issue and what the difference is with wheels that basically spec out the same.

Once tires are feathered and begin to roar, you can put them on any axle and they will still roar. (It cost me $50 to learn this). As for 17x8 inch wheels on the front, if they clear the brakes, I see no safety problem.
