Ive been debating whether I should powdercoat my stock 18s or not. My car is black and I want to do an all black look! Do you think it would look good or should I just leave them the way they are? Also if anyone has any pics please post them up. Thanks
Honestly, powder coating the stock rims is pretty expensive and kills pretty much any resale value.. you're better off just selling them and using the money to buy some new rims.
Sorry for the crappy pic but it is all that I have right now. I have a friend with a powder coating shop so it cost me next to nothing to have this done. I am actually not happy with the color, thought that it was going to be darker, so next winter they are getting done black. I am however happy with the change and the job...they look much better in person. I say go for it...

all black wheels with no polished lip looks like ***. it makes it look like you lost all your hub caps. i like the way your wheels look currently, i wouldnt change it.

Thanks for the compliment. Maybe if they were just a touch darker...more of a charcoal....I will have to think about this now...
You could have them plated with that "Black Chrome".. Looks pretty good, Like Obsidian.
That could be cool ...
But do the stock rims come painted or powder coated already? If so wouldn't they need to be sandblasted?
I want to powder coat/plate them and use them until I get something nice and then keep um as winter wheels... I was quoted over the phone 60 bucks a wheel to do a black powder coat. Thats not bad but he said he'd have to see them to see if they need to be sandblasted because I am not sure about their current stock finish?
