No more Bridgestone S03?
I've got two trashed rear s03's. The fronts look fine, but I can't find new S03's anywhere. I'm assuming they're discontinued. Is that true? I'm just running on stock 18's.
I really hate mixing tires and I don't want to buy 4 new ones. Any suggestions?

i think you misunderstood part of what i meant the OEM Z's still using bridgestone. i was refering to nismo putting the advans on their nismo cars in japan , meaning the RS and new R-tune. and yes they are running advan in super GT this year!
i think i paid about 220 for front S-03 and 270 for rears in 245/40 18 275/40 18
anyone got a ballpark of what advans would cost me as a substitute for the S-03?

The Endless team running Z's in the 300 class in Super GT are running Advans with their Enkeis.
BTW, it depends what line of Advans you want. I checked Discount Tire, and Neovas (AD07) are through the roof, but sizes are limited ($350 for 285/30/18). The Avan A032R that pretty much is on the majority of cars on the Best Motoring Vids are discontinued and replaced by the A048. Again, A048 are limited in sizes, but to get an idea, 265/35/18 for $268 on TireRack.
Best sizes for the LMGT4 18"ers are the ADVAN Sport line, 245/40/18 goes for $241 and 285/35/18 for $287 (275/40/18 not available) at TireRack.
Lastly, if you don't know, do not mistake Yokohama's AVS brand with their ADVAN brand. The thing that sucks about ADVAN tires are the sizes and PRICE. Good thing I did this research... might want to look at ADVAN Sport as my next set of tires. Falken FK-452 (I have 451s, but I hear 452s are better) are an alternative also. They are JDM, and a great value for the performance.
But it seems you like to have the Super GT influence in your car Gonna stick with Bridgestone since Nismo still uses them (as well as Ferrari in F1)?

hmmm. i see that. maybe they switched back or something.
i dunno maybe this is the lst year of the sponsor ship or something
i know some GT500 cars were running them. so maybe its sponsorship commitments or something
but like you said back to the Potenza here
and the RS and R-tune run A048
and i believe from the tread pattern these are advans as well on the s-tune show car the tokyo auto salon

The pics above are "preseason" testing pics, hence the decals and paint are incomplete. Again, as you already know, Nismo has always used Bridgestone during the competitive season.
This is actually a KONDO RACING WoodOne Z... not an acutal Nismo car (entrant). They actually have always had Yokohama/Rays tire and rim combination.
Click this link for full team info, where it states they use Yokohama 330/40/18 tires: http://www.supergt.net/supergt/2006/...06t024.shtm?dt
These team info pages actually have great information... I actually wanted the SSR Type-C rims on some of the old 300class (Hasemi) cars.
[/QUOTE]
The cars above may be just "one offs."
This link has the complete cars that they (Nismo) actually build for customers: http://www.nismo.co.jp/products/completecar/index.html
Seems like the only configuration that a true Nismo built Z33 that is available to "Joe Schmoe" is a "S-Tune GT" version. Click here: http://www.nismo.co.jp/complete/z_s-tunegt/spec.html for the "S-Tune GT" specificatins and it lists tires as Bridgestone S-03 Pole Postion (245/35/19f, 275/35/19r). The Z-Tune GTR uses Potenza RE01... not sure what the 400R or the S-Tune March uses default though.
So it seems Nismo does use Bridgestone for actual season races in Super GT. They have to have some sort of alliance like Ferrari/Bridgestone in F1 (Nismo/Bridgestone in Super GT).
Sorry for seeming to be an *** by the corrections...
I stand to be corrected if I'm wrong...

oh no, i didnt take it that way at all. the whole point of this forum is to share and discuss info.
the only reason i posted all those pics is im currently getting our Gallery section up on its feet and i had them sitting here right in front of me.
https://my350z.com/photogallery/
and yes i try to keep up with Super GT the best some one from the North Carolina possibly can: and yeah i think just the woodone team runs them in the regular season( i dont know much about them but i believe yokohama is an official sponsor of the car)
but yeah back to the S-03 dilemma, i guess i will go with Advans if they truely are gone. my S-03 have held up through a few track days and over two season of autoX. they are great tires. i think i paid around 221 for fronts and 275 for rears when i got my LMgt's
wonder how hard it is going to be to find the advans in 275/40 18?
