Default Opinions on new wheels

Hey guys,

I purchased a set of wheels. They are 18" TSW Thruxtons front 8.5 +40 Offset and 18" 9.5 +35 Offset on the rears, fron lip is 2.5 and rear is 3.5. I think I made a mistake on the offset and there is where I need opinions, what do you guys think it will look like?, anyone with pics on the same offset so I can take a pick?. What kinda tires do you guys would recommend me?..size and all I a complete noob as you can see. Opinions welcome... thanks all for the help.

Yeah I think your offset numbers are WAY off. I don't think your going to have much, if any, lip. I have +26 offsets all around and i have about a 4 inch lip in the back.

So a +35 can't have a 3.5 inch lip.

the thruxton are made differently then the RH R5's...

offset has NOTHING to do with lip size...

all that aside, those offsets are pretty weak for the 350Z.. TSW makes better ofsets for those wheels...

you want something more around +25 in those sizes...

this is the thruxton... their spoke design makes the large lip....

(kind of a fakie lip like the J5 and J8...

Here is a thread where in which some people think he got a 40 to 42 offset. It looks pretty bad IMO. If you can't change your order, I suggest you start researching on spacers, big spacers. Good luck.

Nice rims....but according to the auction, you flaked out and bought nothing.

I am pretty sure I saw this car in person several weeks ago. Needless to say it didn't look good at all. My thought was that somebody swapped them off another car and well.......

Anyways, research!

They are gonna be way too tucked in, and the front might hit the control arm when turning.
