Default alignment help

i explained to the tech how to adjust the spc kit for the rear and dropped my car off. big mistake
ok here are the numbers i'm not happy with.

left rear right rear
camber -1.4 -1.6
toe .23 .21

i told the ****ing guy all i cared about was the toe.
last time i got -1.7 camber left and right with toe in specs.
with the spc arms couldn't the negative camber been increased to get the toe in specs??? and to top it off i look at the bill when i got haom and it says:
can't warranty alignment WTF??

Is that + or - toe? A little - toe is ok, because as you accelerate it will toe out (+)....the camber is right on especially if your lowered.

Anything over [- 0.5 -0.75] camber will wear inner tread more than outer tread a fact of life. As you increase negative camber beyond this it just accelerates the ratio!

IIRC stock calls for up to -1.3 degrees as in spec, we already know the more negative camber you have the faster the insides wear out

i understand that the more camber you have one side of the tire sees more wear. i was just worried about the toe and the toe is positive.

you need to find a different place Scott. Remember, toe and camber is as much a function of your wheels and tires as it is your rideheight. Since obviously you cannot "adjust" a wheel and tire (other than replace an old tire with a new one, which you have done), it becomes a balancing act of rideheight to achieve proper camber and toe.

The guy that does mine is excellent, but not really into doing day to day customer stuff, as he works at a high end dealership in CT and basically sets my car up as a favor to me. But, why not contact JDMFairlady21 (Alex) from here and see if he can get you into the shop. As a fellow Z owner, he should easily be able to take care of the setup for you

Car care in general is pathetic. Because of our busy schedules, its next to impossible to spend the time inside a shop with a mechanic. I like when one of the staff says I’m sorry but for insurance reasons you cannot be in the work area. Hahaha. For incompetence reasons I had better be here.

Sorry to get off the subject.

Didnt you look at them or better yet make marks on them to double check? 2 minutes before you go could save you the time and money for another alignment. I ALWAYS request the place I go to let me be with the tech while he does it, they are cool with it and you get to watch

yea my plan was to stay there. the last time i actually had to explain to the tech that when he couldn't get the toe to 0 out , that he had to add a little camber by lengthening the camber arms. I had something else that was more important going on that day and had to be picked up. sucks i feel like i threw out 100 bucks
