Default New to wheels, looking to buy...

Hi all, I recently decided Id like to put some new wheels on my 06 base350Z. Since im new to this Im not real sure at some good things to look at. Since I dont want to spend a whole lot of money (around $1200 or so) most of the upper end wheels will be out of the question.

One question I have is about the average weight of the wheel. On an 18 inch wheel what should I be looking for? I found these Donz Columbos http://donzwheelz.com/catalog.php?a=columbo and the dealer said they are around 25 lbs. I also saw some ADRs http://www.adrwheels.com/wheels/?sfID1=12&sfID2=250 weight unknown. Those were the only ones I saw in my range that I liked.

Any help here is appreciated.

As long as they dont look cheezy , and you dont track your car . Buy what you like .

On your budget, look at Axis or Ruff wheels. Both come in a variety of styles with proper fitments for the Z. I hope that $1,200 doesn't include tires, because they will be almost that much by themselves in 19" sizes.

25lbs for 18's you gotta be nuts to buy those!

I would keep your stockers.

No the price does not include the tires. I saw some ruffs there as well that were around the same price, just nothing that I liked. I was under the impression the stocks were around the same weight? In any case, since Im new to all this, I think the biggest problem is I cant really picture what these wheels would look like on the car. And yeah, definately dont want anything ghetto.

G to the H to the E to the T to the izo.

Just save your cash til you can get something that you really really want. No reason to settle on something just to get some wheels.

Yes no reason to settle an itch to get new wheels. Be patient.

Work emotion line has always been affordable. 20lbs for 18's. Pretty reasonable at around 1300 for a set of 4.

The Work Emotion CR Kai (like I have on mine) are absolutely worth looking into (I am lowered on HKS RS coilovers)

or the new XD9 is also a great option - here are pics that were shot on a local customers car last week (lowered on Greddy coilovers)

If you want bigger than 18's, look into some of the Privat wheels - they have some really nice offerings and are very well made, but priced very attractively

yeah those emotions are nice. They have an auction up for a set on ebay right now including tires at $800 but I dont know if I like the color or if they would go with my car, its Interlagos Fire (or burgandy as I like to call it) Looks like the color is pretty close to what I have on right now.

the offsets on the ebay ones are not going look nearly as good as the ones on mine (I've got +20 front and rear)

you are going to want the more aggressive offsets like they mentioned above, the work emotion wheels are awesome and are a great price
