Wow I am frustrated!

Wow I am frustrated!
So i just got my brand new Axis Matrix wheels in the mail...and they are great. I got them ready to mount with new tires, valve stems, hubcentric rings, and lugs so I am stoked. I proceed to mount them at which time I was going to drive to get an alignment done. Upon doing so I get about a block away when I hear this clunking sound coming from the front area. I pull back into my garage and upon examining the wheel and playing with the lugs I find that the front lugs are completely loose again...as if I never torqued them down. So I am thinking,,,,patience is a virtue...now try again and be slow. So i remount everywheel taking extreme care and assuring the lugs are torqued and tight and take another spin...same thing happens. So i throw the stockers back on with the stock lugs and no problem.....what's the deal? I'm guessing that when the lugs losen the sound I hear is the wheel going back and fourth against the hub...which sickens me to death. Could they have sent me the wrong lugs? What can I do to correct this cause after seeing the wheels on the car...I must have.

Difficult to judge without photos.
Are the lug nuts bottoming out on the lugs? In other words you are tightening the nut against the lug not the wheel.
Does the shape of the lug nut match the opening in the wheel? Are the nuts conical, and the opening cylindrical?

I'd also add that it's important that the ID (inside diameter) of the center bore ring on each wheel matches the OD (outside diameter) of the hub center. This allows the wheel to be hub centric and have a flush fit. From you description, it sounds as though the wheel is not bottoming against the rotor.
Don't be too frustrated- take your time once again and determine what the problem is. Pat yourself on the back for not making a stupid mistake by ignoring this problem. If you went any further on those wheels, you could damage the lugs, the wheels or the car itself. Now THAT would be frustrating!

did you to remove the "dummy" bolt from the front brake rotor? Its a short bolt that keeps you from mounting the OEM rear wheels in the front. Take that guy out.
If its not that makes sure your hubcentric rings are the correct size.
