Default need help with tire sizes for new rims...opinions

im gonna be getting the motegi togue black rims of 18x9 +25 for the front, and 18x10 +30 for the back. i have a 2003 silverstone no brembo brakes. im stuck on which tires would be best for these rims. ive been doing a lot of research on tire formulas and what not and its driving me crazy haha. so far ive come up with these 2 combos:

1. 245/40/18 with 285/35/18

and

2. 255/40/18 with 275/40/18

and the tires im considering are the toyo proxes t1r's and the goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3's.

which tire combo would go best with these rims? any help would be appreciated. im thinking combo 1 would look better since i dont want too much tire showing but i dont want there to be alot of wheel gap. and im concerned that the 2nd combo might have to much tire sidewall. and also would i encounter any problems with any of these tire combos?? thanks!

I went 245/40 and 275/40 and i dont like how the rear looks. Next time im gonna get 245/40 and 265/40 OR 255/35 and 265/40. That won't keep VDC happy, but it'll probably be the most stable in handling

thanks guys for sharing...i think im gonna go with the 245/40 285/35 combo i do think that 275 is too much tire and the understeer shouldnt be too bad. thanks again!

masterj, i went to see your pics and it says you put 275 in the front or did you change to 245? i hope the 245/40 with a 9 inch width wheel wont look to stretched.

245 w/ 285 will be oversteer central.. but if you don't drive like a nut, you won't even notice a difference.
PS: Stretched looks hawt :-D
