help! what is this here for?
the little bolt thingy there between the studs. what is its purpose. its only on the front brakes not the back. i bought some rims and cant get them on cause of it. what do i do?

It is on there so you don't put your back tires on your front hubs (presumably dealer workers are so lame, it's a possibility), take it off and pitch it in the round file.

I work at classic nissan in orlando. Its so that johnnys tire rotation shop down the street from us doesnt try to put your rear tires on the front. Just get a 14mm wrench I believe, it might be a 12, and take it off and then mount your new rims on.

No, nothing will happen if you take that bolt out and yes if the rotor is froze to the hub by way of rust because of aging you can use a longer bolt of the same thread pitch to force it off if rapping on the inner part of the rotor with a hammer doesnt persuade it to come loose.

Too bad I missed this one earlier.
You guys are cruel...Dont listen to them JDub...If you remove that bolt the whole front caliper and wheel hub assembly will come apart....Its there for a reason....Next time do a search before you trust these fools
