Default Interesting...

So, when I went to the bodyshop to pick my car up they told me that my front strut tie bar is missing..I've seen pictures of aftermarket strut bars but I had never seen a picture of a stock one so I figured that I wasn't missing anything one mine because I bought it from someone that modded the car. But, I guess he took it out or bought one and kept it? And he told me that I should get it replaced because its not good for the car to not have one..Any suggestions?

I assume that you are talking about the front strut brace:the one that goes over the top of the plenum. For a list of retailers check Aftermarket products list.

Yes kind of. The are essentially two types of braces:

a. One that goes over the top of the plenum like the OEM brace or

b. One that goes in front of the motor.

So, what are my best options for ones that would go over the top of the plenum and still allow me to get a crawford upper plenum. They say I could just get a crawford or a stillen but both of those would require me to take the plastic engine cover off?

If you get a tall plenum like the Crawford or APS, you will not be able to use the over the plenum strut bars (clearance issues). For those, you will need the bars that are relocated in front of the engine such as the Crawford, APS, & Stillen. Now if you want to raise your plenum & still use an over the plenum strutbar, you might want to look into a plenum spacer instead such as the Motordyne or AAM.
