Default SSR Professors

I am planning on getting some SSR Professors from tirerack. It was my b-day and I got some cash.

I was looking to get 19's however the tires are extremely expensive. For example... summer tires = 315 a pop for 19's.... while all seasons in 18 = 140 a pop.

Anyways.... Basically wondering what size is good for the Z... for 18 is 10.5 in the back too wide? And finally anyone know of any decent but cheap tires one can buy for 19 in rims?

Any info would be GREATLY appreciated

For 19's:

245-35-19 or 255-35-19 F
275-35-19 or 285-35-19 R

/\ thanks

sizes I do know... but name of tire and the model would be great. I dont feel like spending over 300 per tire. (You get what you pay for I know)

Kabs - let us know if you need the wheels, as we have a set of 19's in stock, and we're in NY, so it's close

As far as good tires in a 245/35 and 275/35, look at the Potenza S03's (on special) BF Goodridge KDW2, and Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 - all are excellent, and all come in under $300 a piece

well, define a budget and it may be easier to make a suggestion.

You should consider an 18" if you are on more of a budget. Even if you get 19's now, you'll have to replace them and prices are not likely to go down in the future.

Don't skimp on tires just cause you're on a budget. Wait to do it right the first time til you have all the cash.

Recommendations from Consumer Reports.

As THE TECH mentioned, don't skimp on safety. A performance car deserves performance tires. Make sure your new tires are the proper speed rating.

I'd ditch that chart - several of those tires are not even made anymore

you're spending good money on nice wheels - no need to skimp and buy something crappy like a General Tire - this aint an '88 Cherokee

If you are not looking to spend a fortune, something like a Toyo T1R is a nice find - good grip levels, no insanely priced, lightweight for it's size. Is it going to set any lap time records? No. Is it the grippiest tire out there? Absolutely not. Is it affordable, relatively quiet, and safe in the rain? You bet

I know these are common sizes, but wouldn't a 30series tire be a better match with a 275 or 285 treadwidth???? I never understood why so many people here go with the 35s, seems like it would jack it up in the back. Or is there just not a 30series available?
