My Z Rattles after 60mph? New Wheels?
Ok, So when I go faster than 60mph my car starts to vibrate. The steering wheel and the stick. Is this from not having an alignment done? Or the bigger wheels?
Thanks,

If the steering wheel starts to vibrate it's most likely your wheels. Were the tires balanced properly (maybe some of the lead came loose and you lost it)? Are all the lug nuts put on tight? If this is all correct, it might be good to get an alignment. Normally this is only needed after suspension works. Did your old tires show any sign of abnormal wear? This might be due to a bad alignment.
If your stick vibrates due to wheels as well, I don't know....

could be alingment, but also check the tire balance. (I also got a new set of wheels and from the first day I could feel more pronounced vibrations above 70 MPH...I took it back in after 30 days and they rebalanced them - the shop moved the weights a considerable amount to get them re-balanced - they now feel much better)
*I waited 30 days just to make sure the tires were completely settled and that any small deviations in the tires would be smoothed out.

camber: when looking directly at the front of your car, draw a line (or imagine a line) that is perpendicular to the ground (straight up) and compare that to your wheel...negative camber is when the tires lean slightly inwards from perpendicular, positive is the opposite.
when you lower your car, you'll introduce more negative camber...negative camber puts more weight on the inside of the tires and thus causes more wear. (negative camber also helps with cornering...ppl that race will add more negative camber b/c they're not as concerned with tire life)
hope that makes sense.

if the only thing you changed was the tires, then I would assume the vibrations are coming from the tires not being balanced correctly. But, since your olds tires also had abnormal wear, you might want to get an alingment done as well (but I don't think this is the cause for the vibrations)

its probably your chrome wheels. Rememebr what Paul Wall and Kanye said, "Drive slow Homie, with your bling bling wheels".
Lol, for real though. U probably need an alignment

Hubcentric rings for your wheels..Its the ring that goes on where you put the wheels on your car. Most cars need them if you have rims..I have 19 volk le37's and they came with them. If not, if i were to drive over 60mph then it will vibrate..what kinda wheels do you have ?
(Hub-centric rings ensure that the wheels are perfectly centered on the vehicle?. These rings do not offer any increase in safety, nor do they affect structural integrity, but they do assist in providing a vibration-free ride. The hub-centric ring kits that we offer are made of the highest-grade materials and are included with your wheel purchase at no additional cost.)
I got this off a site..I'm not sure if its the problem though I could be wrong. Just a thought that what I might think it would be causing the vibrating problem..hope im any help
