Looks. There are alot of threads that would argue any performance benefits.

Bigger wheel usually means additional unsprung weight and more rotational mass.

Make sure you get wide enough tires if you go the wider rims, I don't like the looks of the tires that have the walls stretched out to fit the rims.

Depends. Been a while since I went to Physics class, but more rotation weight means more power is needed to get the wheels moving. Granted it would have to be a significant weight difference.

But your right about wider wheel/tire equals more traction.

Better traction, more offset choices, bigger dish for multi piece wheels.

Ok. Thanks guys!
I will not be going any wider than 245 front and 275 in the rear. I assume 8.5&9.5 are perfectly fit for that.

mostly for look. I got 18X9 and 18X10 for looks and go. The wheels are light to begin with so having an extra inch in the back isn't that harmful. I dont know why though, people put a 275 tire on a 10.5'' rim. Thats pretty crazy. My 275 looks pretty stretched. If i could get this same look w/ a 9 in the front and 9.5 in the rear i would've done that.

The width of the tire you want to run should be the determining factor in what width wheel you should run.

Looks and versatility.
I can get a pretty wide tire with a 10.5 wheel but still fit a 275 with no problem.

I figured....
"Fug it, I'm already going with a 19" wheel! Aggressive width to match!"

How about those SUV guys that stick 22" wheels on their trucks, then have like a 7" wide wheel. Ugh...why go that big if you're going to have little traction and contact patch for braking.
