would it be fine to drive around with 2 new tires in the rear

I disagree. In a Camry or an Accord, Yep. In a sports car, No, IMO. Our cars use high performance tires, and the tread compounds, tread pattern, sidewall flex, any number of things may not be compatible. I say change all four.

if ur in a bind for cash, then its ok to get only 2 tires. but id recommend you change ur fronts when you have the cash, as winter is coming.

yes vo78 is right
i also had one more question (sorry about my noob questions)
one of the new rear tire is 100Y
i am guessing i should buy the other rear tire with 100Y and not 96Y
correct?
because i can get a discount on 96Y

That number is the load range, the "Y" is the speed rating. I don't know what size tire you're talking about, but the load range is a function of the air chamber (the tire/wheel combo is the air chamber) and the maximum air pressure the tire will hold. YES - Stay with the same load rating (match the tires on each axle). You have a sports car for gosh sakes, cutting corners on tires is not the right thing to do. This is your life here.
