Is there any reason for running thicker tires in the front then the rear?

For track enthusiasts the shorter tire matters. Shorter tires increase acceleration ie ... the 30 vs the taller 35. More engine rpm with the shorter tire. For others it may be looks. For more others, certain tire makers do not make the 35 in larger size tires. It really depends on what you want.
