i'm curious to how the z does with lowering. i've had an accord with coilovers, then air cylinders that wore out pretty fast, and then a lowered 99 corvette that had no noticeable wear. now with the z i'd like to lower it no less than an inch, but i've got a morgage and a lot more on my plate which i'd rather not have to deal with new tires all the time. from what i've read on here i know that the rear is gonna have more camber and wear but i would think that the front with the weight of the motor would cause more wear..(thats how the honda was) ... so... when lowering the z what should i expect for the tires?? sorry if i'm beating on a dead horse

However you lower for every 1" the camber goes 0.8 degrees more negative without pruchasing camber correction devices.
Excess beyond -0.7 degees will wear the inner tire tread FAST!
On sporty lux car BRAKES AND TIRES are the biggest cost items until the warranty expires!

I checked with the local shop here and I was told that there should be no need for camber correction devices if I only lower the car 1 inch. Any more than an inch and the camber will have to be adjusted. Not sure if this is correct or not but.....

It depends on what your factory camber settings are. They aren't always the same across the board. Some may be on the low side of the acceptable range, others on the extreme side. If your factory camber is already on the limits then another -8 degrees could be very detrimental to tire wear. An alignment is only $125 or so and is strongly advised since it is toe that wears out tires quicker than camber, and your toe will change even with minimal lowering, especially in the rear.
