If the paint doesn't hold up i'll powdercoat them. The only problem that pushed me away from powdercoating was the fact that I sold my stock wheels so I don't have any spares to ride on while they get powdercoated. No shop powdercoats 4 wheels in 1 day, plus the z is my daily driver.
So if the paint does come off one day, i'll buy some used stock wheels and powdercoat these.

I use the highway to go to work so I cannot use my spare.

i dont see why so many people talk **** about this kinda thing. I think it looks great. I have personally had wheels powdercoated, painted with ppg and have even spray painted wheels with a 89 cent can of paint from walmart.. THEY ALL DID THE SAME ****.
The dupont cans hes using are MADE for wheels, so they dont chip, and following the directions correctly results in the same job you would pay someone else 200-300 bucks to do. Do you guys think that 50% of the wheel companies out there use all these high-tech procedures to paint wheels?? Nah.. its just a bigass vat of paint that goes onto the wheel, then it gets baked.
Brush off all these haters, it looks great!

I agree it looks badass man! I did the same thing to my Anniversary stockers last December and not one chip or flake...Good job and Dont sweat the negative feedback let them pay 200.00 for the same look while driving on a spare!

Thanks guys for the comments. I would prefer powdercoating but like I said earlier I don't have spares to use for daily driving. I went to the car wash and it hasn't chipped yet, I will keep you guys posted if it does happen to chip.
97supratt, it looks good as if you bought them like that, besides it's your car not their's. If it saves money and looks good why no do it, I would. Anyway quick question, on the inside of the rim where you apply your lug nuts, is that a area that was missed are is that a glare?

Looks good. Even my wheels came painted not powdercoated so as long as you use the right paint, it'll hold up. Personally, i would bake them first if you have access to a electric oven.
