Closer to the RS Concept look
I love the look man! So many people on this board are afraid of anything DIY, but I'm glad you're proving to people there's no need to pay someone to do a job that can be done on your own.
EXCELLENT WORK!!

Kiddo, STFU!
45 posts and over half of them talking $#!T in this thread.
Many people do that with inexpensive wheels. Beats the crap out of spending hours on sidewalk with q-tips cleaning the 3K+ set of Volks.
If you don't like to do that, get a ******* set of 22" Asantis with spinners and go roll around whatever sh*thole you came out of like the main pimp. From your childish attitude, your disdain for any inexpensive solution and your poor language skills, you seem just like the type.
So, once again, STFU and take your trolling elsewhere.
PS Supra guy, nice job.
please settle down guys...the OP did a great job imo being that this was a DIY. That alone deserves a pat on the back. It actually turned out quite well too I must say.
Wish I had the ***** to do this myself.
Alex <-- Guy with the q-tips cleaning his volks...

This little idiot just got to me and I am not even the OP. The first couple of times noone paid attention, then he starts repeating this over and over and over for god knows what reason.
I myself made a mistake of getting a set of 18" 2 piece racinghart cpf-tuners. Without daily cleansing they have quickly fallen into a state of neglect.
My next project car, I am getting a set of simple Cray wheels (the line is owned by TSW) they are originally mean for Corvettes, but can fit a GTO and offer a good choice of widths and offesets. And the set of 4 rims is about 800, so it will not make that big of a deal not to go crazy ofer them too much.

The only thought in my mind was "what do I have to lose". The answer was $20 bucks in rim paint, lol. If I messed up, I would be forced to get it done by a pro. BTW Your ride is sick dude, my hats off to you.

My point in calling someone like tsukaz out to show that he just expresses his view in a crude way. If you don't like someone's work that's fine, but the OP did a great job, and constructive criticism is more warranted than blatent rudeness.

I think the rims turned out realyly good. I would hazard a guess that 90% of the people here who preach powdercoating have never actually had it done to their own rims. I've personally spray painted wheels with wheel paint for friends and I had a set of rims powdercoated and I can honestly say that I WILL NEVER POWDERCOAT AGAIN. Once that stuff starts chipping, you can't fix it. I had some pretty big gashes in the powdercoat and I couldn't do anything to actually fix it. Only cover it up with black nail polish. At least with spray paint, you can do a local sand and respray and you'll never know that it was chipped.
sorry to bring this thread back, but did you wet sand your wheels after painting and clearcoating? Or did you stick with the finish you got from the spray?
Also, it looks like the duplicolor can you used was flat black, but from the pictures, the wheels look to be a semi-gloss black. Are you happy with the finish, or would you want a flatter or higher-gloss finish?
