Hey Guys,

Moved to STL recently...my current Potenza/KDW2 setup probably won't cut it once things get cold. Now from what I understand STL doesn't get too much snow but does get a little ice and whatnot.

I've got a set of Nismo rims that needs tires (245/40-18 and 275/40-18), and I was thinking of just going for all seasons. After checking out tire rack I'm debating between the following:

Bridgestone 960AS ($840/set)
Continental Contiextreme ($600/set)
Pirelli PZeroNero M+S <-- Would love these but are backordered

Any opinions/suggestions? Should I scrap the all season idea and just get winters for the stock rims and summers for the nismos? I'm pretty low on funds and would love to get the nismos rolling.

I just bought some contiextremes and love them. I live in downtown Chicago and have already seen some slippery conditions and I've not lost control like I did with the Potenzas.

 

I live in Lake Saint Louis and we normally don't get a lot of snow: but you never know. I just ordered a set of Dunlop Graspic DS-2 winter tires from Tire Rack. They are supposed to be delivered tomorrow. They may be an overkill but I have Pirelli P Zero Rosso's now and I know they won't be good for the cold and snowy weather.

I've been testing a set of Nitto Neo Gens in Colorado for the Winter '06 issue. Without giving anything away, I can say that my 350Z has been much more drivable in a broader range of conditions than any tire I've used before. I run the same sizes you mention and would say that pricing on the Neo Gens should find them to be more than competitive with anything you've listed.
