I have a set of CUSCO camber arms up front and Battle Version Rear Camber Arms. I do not know the alignment settings since I haven't been since the last 2 coil over changes. I want to corner weight the car soon and I will see if I can find the camber gauge.

I just put a set of Work VS-XX on order with 18x10.5 +19 up front and +14 in the rear and again plan to use the 265/35/18 RT-615's.

 

Ray, once the wheels show up I will check out all the vdc issues then I can back you on this. The tech article says that you can't violate the 3% rule, running the same tire diameter should make the VDC less sentive. Did I read something wrong?

For anyone who cares, I am the new owner of these wheels! I plan on putting them to good use in some SCCA events on my G35 in and around Utah and Montana!

 

What is the source of the "tech article" you site?

 

The tech article that I am refrencing is the sticky post entitled "Will these tires work with my VDC enabled car"

 

According to that article, the 0% variance falls withing their specs and thats probably why I have never experienced any problems with the tire selection that I have run.

OEM will allow Front to Rear Variance of -0.3% up to 5.7%

All of the above tire choices that I have put on the car were all perfectly fine with the exception of the SF-Challenge where the ABS acted a bit weird now that I think about it. (I have a horrible memory but dug through some old posts that I had with the SF-Chal.) Despite the ABS acting up on hard deceleration/turn, it did not interfere with my normal commute to work.

 

I just got the wheels in today, hopefully i will have pics by tonight, if not for sure by the weekend! Thanks Ray for some sick wheels!

 

Side question....but do you know what those MB Weapon wheels weigh? I was looking at getting a set for the track (275/40's on all 4 corners)

 

My 275/40/17 mounted on a 17x9 +17 weighed in at 50lbs. Given the tire is 28lbs, the wheel must weigh around 22lbs.

 

Well the enkei's are re-born on my g35! All I can say first is thanks to Ray for selling some sick rims! This tire rim combo is what I have been looking for. IMO the perfect balance of performance, cost, and style! Here are a few pics, I worked late, had a few hang ups and then the batter died so I appologise for the horriable quality. The angle make it look like I have a huge amout of fender gap... but really it's not that bad.

I just guessed on the drop and it's about two fingers width between rubber and fender. I plan on going lower once I have time to put my control arms on and mess with it.. hopefully this weekend!

And for all you people that hated on this thread or are scared to do this... I have stance coil-overs and no camber adjustment right now, dropped about an 1.5".... I HAD NO VDC ISSUES and I had no rubbing during my initial fifteen minute drive around my nieghborhood going over bumps trying to make it rub!!

Sry for that comment before, but just looking at that close-up of the tire made me a little thirsty! But the wheels look sweet! Are they still on the same rubber- 265/35/18 all around?

The G must definitely sit lower to the ground than the stock Z bc I wouldn't have thought that 35 sidewall would fill up the wheel well so nicely.

Anyways, just be careful p-parking.

 

The z does sit a lot lower than the g stock, I lowered it about 1.5" from stock last night thinking that would be enought but it looks like I can go even lower! And yes it's still on the same rubber 265/35's!!

 

Just as a side note for those of you asking about why the Falken 265s have less strech than others is that the Falken 615's are known for being a very wide tire. My brothers 240sx used 245's and no tires rubbed until he switched to the 615's. He said they were over a 1/2 in widder than his old Hancook 245's.

 

Holy effin fish tank batman...tint the windows. And lower that 4x4...and add a little more camber and really see the potential of that setup.

Nice selection on wheels Ray! good prices and lightweight. You really cant go wrong with them for race application.

 

The more I drive the setup the more I like it! All the things Ray said about the setup is really true! I can now go drive my car around town and have a blast with out worrying about drifting into somebody whenever I went around a corner. I will give more feedback after I go to an SCCA event here in a few weeks then I can give some more input. But first thoughts are they are amazing.... the grip is un-real!
