Is there any chance you could have went with wider RT615's -say the 275/35/18's up front? The rears look like they have space for 305's or 315's. I'm curious as to what the absolute widest you could go up front though.

Rebirth #3 -

I think I'm in love... this set-up is insane! I do need a little fender roll or to raise the ride height a bit in front...

Awesome pics!

As for 275 up front, it would be VERY VERY tight. The rear def had more room for more tire, but for the power of a bolt-on 350z, the 265 RT615 were plenty for a well balanced car!

I really like the set up. Did any of you have to roll the fenders? Or did the 265 and negative camber take care of that?

They look good, I guess the wheels were just meant to be on a black 350z! Hopefully you enjoy them!

Just to be safe, I had rolled the rear fenders and front fenders (a bit more than factory) from previous wheels I had.

And you're all welcome for the bump of this thread. I wanted to see more RPF1's before I buy my set of 19s.

With the same size tire/wheel on 4 corners do you rotate tires now? If yes, are you removing the tire from the wheel to rotate? or just driving with the tps light on all the time?

You just swap wheels front to back. Why would you swap just the tires? That's a silly question. Who would dismount, remount, and balance every 6,000 miles.

^^^Because the TPS sensors in each wheel are calibrated to that corner of the car (or at the very least calibrated to front vs. rear of the car). Swapping wheels from front to rear will give you misleading information in the Info Center gauge on the dash (or cause it to go into an error state).

That is the way I understood it (at least for my 03 anyway).

I thought the tps would still read the pressure. I don't know if it would be correct as far as front or back still being front and back but it would still read the pressure.

It would read the air pressure and at least in my 03 the TPS sensors in each wheel send a "radio frequency" signal to the computer in the car (the antenna to receive that information is supposedly in the passenger a-pilar). I've read to truely disable TPS in my 03 I would need to disconnect that antenna (along with removing the TPS sensors). By default the Info gauge on the dash just shows Front and Rear, but from tracking my Z I could have sworn that if a particular corner is low that the info gauge changes modes and tells you which corner is reporting low pressure (for example, you run sessions in the morning, air pressures get skiddishly high so you let air out, you break for lunch and and after lunch when tires are cold the car sounds a stupid 30 second long beep for each corner that is low!). Rotating tires on this setup (which is cool, don't get me wrong) would lead to misleading information unless you got the TP computer recalibrated. The dealership charges a lot to do that. I wish you could buy the tool and do it yourself (maybe you can, I just have not researched it). HTH.

The only way to reprogram them is at a dealer. I don't remember exactly about them reporting which tire is running low. My screen display for the tpms displays each individual tire pressure. If one is low, it signals which tire is low by the pressure blinking IIRC. I get the warning light too. With them mix matched on the car, I will not know exactly which tire is low but I will atleast know one is low.

As of right now, I don't even have them. I have some tpms installed in my wheels but they're from a different car. I got them from a friend that sold his Z. I have yet to get them programmed to the car. I am just riding around with the warning light on.

Thanks for the reply - that is exactly what I wanted to know. I thought that maybe the car would be in limp mode or something as a result of the warning light.

I may get a 2nd set of wheels/tires for track use (of same size front/back). Then, swap them as needed. Just wanted to confirm that I will only have a warning light displayed and I won't have to worry about.

Sorry for the thread hijack - somewhat relevant to the original topic.

You're welcome. Just a warning light without the tpms. Nothing more.
