Default Discount Tire ruined the lip of one of my Work S1's

I took my car to discount tire today to get the left rear tire mounted the right way ( the tuner i bought them from in california just mounted the tire on the wrong direction, no biggie ) and I get out to my car after they were finished and say, "what the ****?!?!?" a guy comes over and asks me whats wrong, I said, "you guys scratched the **** out of my lip and put 2 gashes in it, thats whats wrong, I had the wheels for 3 damn days!"

So they get the manager and I say," I wouldn't normally do this, and I hate to be a pain in the butt, but one of your idiots just pretty much ruined the lip of of one of my brand new workmeister s1's" He looked at me like I was lying just to get some money for something I had done myself, but then he looked me up in the system and saw that I have been going there for the past 4 years. He appologized and assured me they will get the wheel fixed.

Needless to say, they are going to get a wheel shop to fix it but they pretty much threw 4 years of my business away. I will NEVER go to discount tire again.

that sucks. I get my tires from them too. I only let a particular nissan driver there put tires on my Volks. He's extra carefull. Over time though, you will get scratches and nicks on your lip.

Well yeah, I realize wear and tear happens. I just sold my racing harts that I had for a year and they were in no way perfect. But my Works were still in show room condition, I literally put them on 3 days ago.

Well I just got a call from the manager, they are having a wheel guy come down from Winston Salem ( about 1.5 hours away from me ) and fix it on Tuesday. Whew, that makes me feel a little better, but still, it sucks a$$. I don't have very good luck.

that sucks real bad. unfortunately, most people aren't careful mounting tires which makes me real paranoid. i think this is a big drawback in getting some nice wheels is that there is a big risk in messing them up when mounting the tires on. I bought some 18x8 rims online and it arrived with some scratches on the outer edge from when the mounted the tire. sucks, but i couldnt do much about it unless i wanted to ship it back and wait for it more. but glad they are going to do something about it. Lot of people have to fight for their replacement/repair.

I bring my wheels to Champion Motorsport to have my tires mounted. They have won Lemans and the 12 hours of Sebring for the last 10 years. All they do is work on Gallardo's, they had 3 Cararra GT3's there, and they make $7000 a set wheels for Porsche's, and they still managed to mangle one of my brand new ADVANS!!! It doesn't matter where you go... anyone anywhere on any given day can screw up a wheel!!! That's what I have learned. They fixed it and it's good as new. You could never tell.

You wouldn't think these guys could screw up a wheel!

You also need to watch for when they take the wheel off the rim. Last time I went there they pried on the inside of the rim to get the tire off and ended up putting gashes in the inside lip were the tire beads to. Ended up causing small leaks that would take two weeks to leak down. Took them three weeks and two wheels later to fix. Talk about them losing out.

And make sure no one uses an impact gun on your wheels.

I found a small tire shop that takes great care of my wheels at a great price IF the right guy does the work. It's a two man shop. I don't let the other guy do anything.

yeah i made sure they didnt use any sort of air tool to take off my wheels, they did it by hand. The manager has assured me the guy coming to fix it will make it look as if nothing ver happened.
