Default Question for WORK wheel owners

What is the proper label/identification you have on the interior wall of your wheels? My wheels have a WORK label which inlcudes: specs of wheels, model type, size, and nothing else. Is this normal? My old Advans and VOLKS came with more than one label, normally with JMC identification, testing and what not. I have a funny feeling that my WORK wheels grey market. TIA.

which model do you have?
...and who did you buy them from?

i have the meister s1.
theres a label on the inside with specs. my wheels are 3pc, so each rivet head has the work logo engraved on it, and there is also an engraving on the inside of one of the spokes with the work logo, iirc.

Is there only one label in the inner walls? My wheels are 3pc as well, and the rivets, stem caps have the work "W" logo embossed on them. I thought all Japanese wheels bound for export were required to carry the JMC label as well.

im pretty sure there is a JMC or JM embossed on one of the the spokes, on the inside, of each wheel.
..and i am pretty sure my rivet heads have the complete work logo, spelled out. not just the "w".

there may have been another label on the inside of the wheel, but i cant say for sure.

im at work, and my wheels are in my garage, so i cant check till later.

When you say grey market, are you worried that it's not a REAL Work wheel?

If it was a fake Work wheel, I'm sure visually you could just tell its fake, its pretty easy to spot the crappy knockoffs.

But from what you're saying, it sounds real. Don't worry.

As long as you bought from an authorized Work distributor you should be fine. Even if you didn't, you still should be fine, I don't think you could knock off a Meister S1 3 piece and make it visually passable.

Do you mean "JWT," as in Japanese Wheel & Tire Association?

I know that there are wheels destined for the USDM and there are wheels destined for the JDM. They are marked differently to conform to the more restrictive JDM requirments for wheels. The USDM wheels are the same but do not have to have the same testing and documentation.

i just checked mine for you incase it helps put your mind at ease.

one label only.
the inside of the spokes are embossed with, AMP, VIA690KG, Made in Japan, and JWT? (logo looks like "J" + "U" + backwards "J")

the JWT is also embossed on the front of the wheel, towards the center of the wheel, where 2 spokes meet.

hope this helps.

To the original poster you are wayyyy too paranoid bro

Work Wheels in Japan are the same exact wheels you are getting in the USA, not like we are getting USDM Work Wheels or something LOL, no such thing!

In regards to Jet's post, in Germany they have TUV standard, America has DOT & SFI and in Japan have JWL. Each country has their specification requirements. OEM vs Aftermarket has different set of rules as well. Usually OEM will have their own specification for the wheel maker to follow, aftermarket has their own standards as well. But most of these testing specifications are relatively similar from each other.

That being said, don't worry!

I was just worried since the inner walls only had one "Work" label. I have a set of VS-XX which was bought from an non-authorized U.S. dealer. The price is similar to what others have paid for.

I'm probably too paranoid hence my last set of Advans came neatly packaged , manuals, certificates, brochures, dust covers etc. I guess WORK does not spend much of their money on packaging?

actually work wheels come very nicely packaged.

they also come very neatly packaged, with brochures/instructions/wheel care info, dust cover, hubcentric rings (in a box), (4) valve stem (in a box).

it all depends on who you picked yours up from. maybe they didnt give them to you in the same condition they received it in? or they kept some of the items?

again, it all depends on who you got them from. blame your supplier, not work wheels.

I did receive all the hardware, valve stems, caps, etc - just wasn't impressed with the packaging. But thanks again for everyone's input. I feel rested now.

Yeah, to the original poster, I think you should be wary of whoever you bought it from.

Work's packaging in comparison to Advan to me is the same (I sell both), Advan's dust cover is a little cooler but that's about it

All the Work Wheels we sell include what he said, so I have no idea why the supplier gave to you without that stuff. The brochures and dust covers etc are pretty worthless hehe

agree 100% with A Spec

Neither company offers stellar packaging...it ain't box of Godiva

But they have the JWT brochure, the center cap, the stem and a plain dust shield - they can be tossed in the garbage
